WASHINGTON (Map, News) - Officials around the Washington area say they will not follow Prince Williams and Loudouns efforts to discourage illegal immigrants from residing within their borders, despite anti-illegal immigrant groups concerns that the neighboring counties will become magnets for undocumented workers.
Both the Prince William County (VA) and Loudoun County (VA) Boards of Supervisors recently voted to direct officials to study denying services to those in the country illegally. Representatives from Montgomery (Md), Prince Georges (Md) and Arlington (Va) counties say they do not foresee their counties investigating similar policy changes.
There are all sorts of new Americans who have settled in Montgomery County, county spokesman Patrick Lacefield said. We consider our diversity our strength, and were not going to be going down the road that perhaps Loudoun and Prince William are, in terms of cracking down on immigrants. J. Walter Tejada, vice chairman of the Arlington (VA) County Board, said Arlington has no plans to change its policies, either. Arlington will continue to be a welcoming and inclusive county, Tejada said. What Loudoun and Prince William counties are doing is government-sanctioned xenophobia at its very ugliest.Officials from Fairfax County and Alexandria said only that their jurisdictions are not pursuing any action on illegal immigration at this time.
There is debate over whether illegal immigrants will leave Loudoun and Prince William counties.
We track Spanish-language media programs, and theres definitely talk of people saying theyre going to pick up and go elsewhere in the area, said Greg Letiecq, president of Help Save Manassas.Weve had the red carpet out for a while here in Montgomery County, said Brad Botwin, director of HelpSaveMaryland.com. Now that parts of Virginia are making it more uncomfortable for them, it will make us even more attractive to illegal aliens.
Gustavo Torres, executive director of CASA of Maryland, an immigrant-advocacy group, disagreed. They want to stay there, he said, where they already have houses and jobs to support them.
However, sorry to and for all the Freepers and other citizens out there in these tolllllllerant and diverrrrrrrse sanctuary cities that are only going to go from BAD to WORSE it seems, in that region back over there, as OTHER counties wake up, say "Screw you Washington, D.C., we're taking local ACTION!"
I saw on Channel 7 News (WJLA) earlier this evening that Montgomery County has established a new department to prosecute gang crime.
Apparently, gang crime is out of control (and growing) in some areas of Montgomery County.
Anyone want to guess where the gang members are from, and whether the gang members are in the USA legally or not?
It’s like trying to get rid of cockroaches; if you just spray one apartment, they’ll scurry to an untreated unit. You have to spray the whole building. BTW, I’m not saying that illegals are vermin, just that certain insects act like invaders.
I guess they've forgotten when several "new Americans" flew a plane into a certain part of Arlington County a few years ago.
But that's just me and that's just a wild guess.
PS Forget the Dr. Pepper if I win. It would be too expensive to Fedex out here to Japan!
But, then again, that's diverrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrsity. For you.
I swear these sanctuary cities and counties will be the death of America yet, either quickly by massive terrorism, or on the installment plan through just plain social blight, decay and higher taxes brought on by illegal alien parasites.
I remember Arlington County when it had no illegal immigrants. A shame it’s now governed by fools.
Do you have a handy dandy FR immmigration ping list that you can hit re: this article??
Hitting too close to home, Señor Tejada?
Sounds like it is pretty bad. It will be a stark difference in a few years driving from Arlington, into some of the neighboring or nearby counties that have awakened up (despite the whines and cries from the ACLU types), listened to the vast majority of their local constitutents—have NOT put the policy opinions of the illegal alien on par with legal residents or American citizens—and have taken care of the matter.
Northern Virginia has been the second home to MS13 for years. Biggest problem has been the ambition of many public officials to PROTECT them.
This began to turn around when the Herndon town council got thrown out on its ears in the last election.
Arlington and Alexandria have little problem with the illegals though ~ even wealthier Americans can't afford to live there. Fairfax County, however, does have some lower income communities with big bunches of these guys. The problem surges into other areas, particular communities that are predominantly immigrant (legal) such as the one I live in. Two people have been murdered around here by ElSalvadorans wielding baseball bats.
PING
For those of you who live in this area...
And the rest of us who have the same illegal alien problemms....

Ding! Ding! Ding!
We have a Winner!
And Montgomery County "celebrates" the wonderful diversity these folks bring to the county!
Arlington has ALWAYS been governed by fools.
When we took a trip a couple of years ago to Japan with our Japanese daughter-in-law, it was so refreshing to hear the beautiful Japanese language instead of spanish. It was a mental vacation as well as physical.
ILLEGAL ALIENS you lying scumbag Liberal POS.
Here comes the flood!!!
I lived there 40 years ago. No illegals and the 1965 Immigration Act hadn’t had time to dissolve the old America. Arlington was a nice place to live except for the traffic.
I lived there too. It was still governed by fools.
