My help cometh from the Lord,
which made heaven and earth.
We come before You as a humble band of ordinary Christians, seeking the mercy and grace of our Extraordinary God. You are our hope in a world of despair. You are our strength in a world of weakness; our light in a world of darkness.
O Lord, sometimes it seems as though our nation and the entire world is helplessly spinning out of control. And yet, Your words are there: Be still and know that I am God. Help us to trust in You Lord, during these days of uncertainty, fearfulness, and confusion. How great is our need for Your soft, calm voice saying, Be still. O Father, we know that ultimately our citizens and our leaders must make monumental decisions soon that will affect the course of history. We know the tide of evil that is rising cannot be appeased or negotiated away. The roar of the loud and boisterous---the voice of the wicked tyrants cannot be silenced through weakness.
And so we come to You, Lord, the source of our strength, for You have promised to see us through the days of plenty as well as the days of want. We come seeking Your will to be done in this nation and in the world because You are greater---greater than the plans of any group of terrorists, greater than the plots and schemes of any political party, greater than the slanderous lies being tossed about by the media, greater than any force in heaven and earth or beneath the earth---You are greater, O Mighty God. Therefore, we will neither fear nor be anxious, for You, our Lord will go with us. You will neither leave us nor forsake us. O Lord, never let Your awesome power be bound by any lack of faith on our part. We pray that when You look upon us as we come before You, that You would find our eyes uplifted, our hearts inclined, aware of Your awesome power, and filled with great anticipation for all that You are waiting to do.
Father, we come before Your throne to ask for Your strength to soar in our President so that he may finish this term of office in a way that will bring glory and honor to Your Holy and Awesome Name. May Your perfect will be the central focus of His heart. We seek You, Lord, in numbers unknown, asking, seeking, knocking, believing in Your willingness to answer our requests for clarity of mind, strength, and courage for President Bush. We ask boldly for a mighty victory for this man and this nation in Iraq. With confidence we place Him in Your mighty arms, believing that You will deliver him; Your help will come to him.
Father, we long to reach out and hold our military men and women and bring them back home into the arms of safety. Yet we know that Your ways are tested and Your timing is perfect. We ask that an impenetrable blanket of protection would be placed over our young men and women defending us. Bless them for their service in the defense of freedom. Assign each one of them a guardian angel, Lord, and set to confusion all those who seek their destruction. Defend the innocent of Iraq, Lord, and help them to one day know You.
Lord to whom can we compare You? There is none like You. Hear the prayers of Your people, Father. We trust in Your Word. We trust in Your unwavering truth. We trust in the Name of the Lord, our God, and in our Savior, Jesus Christ, in whose Name we pray. Amen.

My wife an I pray for Pres. Bush, our military and even our Congress every day, but it appears that in Congress only a few have their headsets turned on.
My Prayers each and everyday for the President and a guidance prayer for him also.

Lord, we look to You, the author and finisher of our faith and our Great Redeemer and Savior. Thank You for the name of Jesus.
Thanks for continuing in prayer, Commonjudge. We never know when the break-through will come with some Congress members who are walking in darkness, but we remain confident that the Lord responds to our prayers.
