Republicans Block Surrender (AP Breaking)
ASS press

Senate Republicans have mustered enough votes to scuttle a proposed troop withdrawal from Iraq. A roll call is continuing and the vote is not final.

Harry Reid's juvenile prick prank failed.

What next?

Perhaps he will hold his breath and stamp his feet like a petulant, picayune, prepubescent pipsqueak angry at the grown-ups for not getting his wish.

There is a possibility that OBL is alive, well, and comfortable, living in the palace of a rich relative in Saudi Arabia who happens to be a member of the Saudi royal family. Since he’s a fellow member of the royal family, he’s receiving sanctuary. If true, the US government knows it, but because it’s the Saudi royal family we can’t touch him.

How’s that for a conspiracy theory? OK, pretty wacky, I admit. But that’s how things work with those people over there. And to some extent in our government here, too.

Perhaps we know exactly where he is. Perhaps we’ve known where he is since November 2001. As such, we’ve had his hideouts bugged and therefore know exactly what he and his followers are up to, thus enabling us to thwart his every move. Wouldn’t that be something?

Well, the Pubs managed to find enough spines to keep us from losing all our clout in the world. Good for them.

Too bad they couldn’t muster more fortitude when they had the majority, though.

Bias? Against the Dems, maybe. That title’s pretty cool.

Nah....he’s dead and we won’t admit it because he would be a “heroic” martyr then.

Fuddy!!!!!

“Could be we don’t know where OBL is because he’s dead. Which is what I’ve been saying since 2002. Of course I could be wrong, but it makes the most sense IMO.”

I agree!

The funniest part was in the final moments of the debate when Reid thanked all the little people (my words) who made the debate happen - security guards, staffers, janitors, who operated on no sleep (unlike the Senators who I’m sure slept until their five minutes in the limelight). I’m sure all the working folks were furious at the ruling class for this stupid stunt.

Best line from Reid - “I have been here a quarter century, and I could be here for another quarter century (ed. God forbid), and I will never understand what these folks do to make this place run.” Huh? You can’t figure out what working people do when they do their jobs?

"It should be interesting to see which democrats voted against surrender. "

That would be interesting. A real anomaly.
