July 17, 2007
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Mr. President, these are very difficult days in our history. The war in Iraq continues to impose an unacceptably heavy toll on our military, their families, our national security, and our ability to lead the world. I intend to vote for the Levin-Reed amendment, and I urge the Senate to approve it.
America is paying an enormous cost for a war we never should have fought, and its time to bring it to an end.
The war has divided us here at home, and it has made us more isolated in the world. Never before, even in the Vietnam War, has America taken such massive military action with so little international support.

STATEMENT OF SENATOR EDWARD M. KENNEDY ON CHAPPAQUIDDICK July 25,1969My fellow citizens:
I have requested this opportunity to talk to the people of Massachusetts about the tragedy which happened last Friday evening. This morning I entered a plea of guilty to the charge of leaving the scene of an accident. Prior to my appearance in court it would have been improper for me to comment on these matters. But tonight I am free to tell you what happened and to say what it means to me.
This is an excerpt.
Nice try ted.

Uncle Ted is cheerleading for Treason. Al Qaedacrat Primero Uno. What a load of ----. Coming from that man, there's no depth of infamy to which he can sink, except of course leaving a young woman to die nearly four decades ago.

Mark Levine palyed an audio clip of ted in tonights senate`s theatrics.
Kennedy said Vietnam instead of Iraq ! So we know they`re
trying to repeat the defeat in SE Asia.
Couple that with the Webb meltdown where he replied to
Graham`s comment to let them win, Webb said, they won`t
win!

The Democrats are afraid of victory. A bunch of whiny voiced losers. They shouldn't be trusted with power, much less than with children's toys.

But tonight I am free to tell you what happened and to say what it means to me. What it meant to you,Teddy,is that the only punishment you suffered is a suspension of your driver's license. But what very few people know...you were caught driving during this period of suspension at least once.

Would he rather us lose a few thousand in one day? This isn’t Vietnam, Teddy.

The good Sen. lies. We went to war with the support of a diverse coalition of nations. We have allies alongside us in Iraq. All that's forgotten in Uncle Ted's rush to blame America for doing two good deeds: we removed Saddam Hussein from power and we eliminated the threat of nuclear weapons in ending up in the hands of a psychopath madman. Whatever else you might say about the War, from that standpoint, it was completely justified and morally praiseworthy. Too bad Uncle Ted doesn't see it.

Teddy you don't know Vietnam, I was in Vietnam when you were in Hyannis-port. You, sir are a crud bag of the highest order.
Don't do another Southeast Asia, you will kill another 3 or 4 million people. But, you really don't care do you. It doesn't really matter to you as long as you can give up our freedom for it. Why the good people of Massachusetts reelect you, I have no idea. You, Sir have been a traitor for such a long time. You sell out this nation on a daily basis. You will meet your maker one day, and He won't be happy. Get ready for a southern vacation that will be very hot, and no air conditioning. No bourbon, no scotch, no women, just HOT. Burn in Hell you fat bastard.

The Democrats are afraid of victory.
Not directly. What they are afraid of is how the political power equation in the US changes if there is victory.
That's why they are pushing so hard, right now, for a change in policy. They know that if September rolls around and General Petraeus comes back with a positive progress report saying that the surge has worked, they and their Congressional majorities and their shot at the White House in 2008 are f***ed. So they HAVE to act now to make sure it dosn't happen.
