MONEY makes you handsome. And that’s the fact.

I cringe when I see a man in the passenger side of a vehicle with his wife/whatever driving and maybe the kids in the back

I was fishing at the beach with my bro's, and had a bunch of beers when she picked me up.

Men are groveling buffoons...

Heh. so said Mencken in 1918: In Defense Of Women

He eventually married, HYPOCRITE!

I even have a category on Quicken for "dating" to track all the money that goes out the door just so I can take these ladies out.

My GF enjoys hanging out on the beach while i dig for clams. She doesn't mind cheap dates, and doesn't ask for nice/expensive presents, which is precisely why she gets them.

Is this one of those optical illusion trick pictures? I just see a woman in a thong bikini.

No flaming here. I agree, and so does my wife. We have two cars, one that I usually use for work and one that my wife uses for errands and stuff (she’s a stay at home mom). No matter WHAT car we’re using, we don’t even have to discuss it, I’m driving.

The only situation in which I could conceive of her driving when I’m in the car is if we’ve been to a party and I’ve had too much to drink. But, as I’m not a big drinker, that has never happened.

Also, while we’re venting, another thing that gets me is the guy who allows his date to pay for her half of the meal (or even worse, get the check entirely). Whatever happened to manhood? Where is the desire to step up and act like a man? My wife couldn’t agree more, even when we were dating. She didn’t know what to expect the first time we went out, but she learned really quickly that when I would take her out, I would be paying. It’s assumed.

Being a man is nothing more than always driving the car, and always picking up the check? That's mighty shallow, no?

What the hell does driving have to do with being a man dipwad? I have spent years driving everywhere. The wife likes to drive and it is great to sit back and relax when we are on the way somewhere. A car is a utility not an extension of your manhood. Oh, maybe that doesn't apply to you. From what I've seen most of the pretty boy metrosexuals tend to drive hot sports cars with plenty of horse power that are most likely to attract the vacant headed bimbos.

Nah, what is really teeth skin shallow is to give up what you could care less about to foster an environment that gets you what you want whenever you want it.

Fine, the usual summer stuff, camp, beach, fishing, six flags, etc.

Good luck with the grandparents inspection!

A man is not defined by who drives the car. A man is defined by his morals, ethics and if married, how he treats his wife...with respect & love. Same too with his kids. There is no doubt he should provide a masculine roll, but who drives the car does not define same. BTW, when I was in college my dating girls had some real ups and downs as I treated women with respect and kindness. It seemed many of my friends who truly showed little if any respect to the young ladies did much better then me, amazing how many woman were attracted to men who treated them like garbage. Being in my mid 40s, and never wavering from showing respect and caring for a woman, especially that lady which I married, I have no complaints and I am very happy with my life. I would estimate about 80% of my friends who were disrespectful to woman in college are now divorced...Same runs the other way too, the woman in college I knew who only like the jerks, well, with many their fruit is now withering on the vine sad and lonely. Geez, I have had girls from my college days actually tell me they thought I was pretty good looking in college, although not the 6' guy they looked for, but they admitted they failed to see how I was such a great guy. Well, my wife was lucky enough to appreciate a man like me, and let me tell you..even in her early 40’s she still a treat to the eyes, but more importantly, she is a great person to sit on the back deck, a beer for me, a glass of wine for her, and you know what...we talk to each other and laugh.

BTW, if she wants to drive, I have no problem letting her. It happens most of the times I do, but for no particular reason except I like to drive.

Don’t confuse what is necessary with what is sufficient. Obviously, being a man is much more than that, but to me, those items are definitely necessary.

The fact that there is even disagreement on these issues is proof of how far society has deteriorated.

Tell me, how would your grandfather feel about watching his grandson allowing his date to pick up the check, or watching his granddaughter having to pick up the check because the guy wasn’t interested in doing so? Be honest.

How about on a long car trip? We just drove from Carlsbad, CA to Grants Pass, OR - about 11 hours straight up I-5. After Mr. Inspectorette had driven the first three hours, he was ready for a break, so I drove for a couple of hours, then he drove the rest of the way.

Up around Redding, I volunteered to give him another driving break, but being the chivalrous guy that he is, let me sit back and relax while he contended with rude and stupid jackasses tailgating, weaving in and out, etc. (It's good to be home ;-)

Did you see that Ford advertisement that had the divorced dad dropped off by his ex-wife with the kids who then thanks her for the time spent?

Made me barf - and kept me from buying Fords.

My wife is indeed very gracious, and I thank God for her every day. Today is our third wedding anniversary, and I tell anyone who will listen that she’s easily the best thing that ever happened to me. I try very hard to take the best care of her, because her happiness is very important to me. Also, we have a year and a half old son (and another baby on the way), and I know that the best way for me to show my son that I love him is to love his mother.

Like I said, live is beautiful. I’ve never been happier.
