McCain campaign running out of money

CNN has learned McCain’s campaign has only $250,000 left.

WASHINGTON (CNN) – CNN has learned the already-dire situation for Sen. John McCain’s presidential campaign has actually gotten even worse, with two sources close to the candidate saying the campaign only has a paltry $250,000 left.

The sources tell CNN that next week the McCain campaign will reveal it has about $1.75 million in unpaid debts, wiping out the $2 million in cash-on-hand the campaign currently has in the bank.

Sen. McCain needs to quietly bow out and save himself further embarassment.

It is even worse as Future Former Senator and Former Future VP Lindsay Graham sees a significant career change in his future.

No wonder he was so testy on Russert’s Meet the Press yesterday.

Maybe he can ask Gilmore for some help. I hear he had about $90K in the bank when he quit.

Why doesn’t the guy just give up. He is delirious if he thinks that he has a chance to be POTUS. Waste of money and effort.

Don't get me wrong - I detest McCain. But, I feel it is somehow wrong - that the person who makes the most money gets the bid. Why do they have to buy their way onto the ticket? Why is is always about money? (Serious question.......just curious.)

Jim Gilmore dropped out over the weekend. John should save his money and donate it to the primary winner.

But this can’t be true — the MSM has been telling us since November that McCain is the Republican front runner.

Gee, if only he hadn’t alienated the Republican base by supporting the war in Iraq.

When McCain quits, that means that Thompson will win SC. So, the first 3 will be Romney (IA), Romney (NH) and Thompson (SC).

I guess it is still “possible” that Giuliani could take it all on Feb. 5, but I think that’s unlikely (though this cycle is more front loaded than ever before, so we are in uncharted waters).

Bottom line prediction, though. It will be a 2-man race between two good GOP candidates: Romney and Thompson. When Giuliani spends his mountain of money and doesn’t take it all on Feb. 5, he will have to quit.
