A local convenience store clerk constantly complains about efforts to buy the store’s products with pesos.

Got no problem with it. We traveled all over Europe and could cash in dollars just about anyplace. Also marks, frances, etc. (All Euro now.)

The point is, though, that all those places made money on us through both the exchange rate and the processing fee.

Washington retailers have accepted Canadian currency for years. However I disagree with calling pesos legal tender. If a retailer likes to take it fine.....but to consider it legal tender is wrong.

I’m surprised it took this long. Many merchants in Montana along I-15 from Alberta accept Canadian dollars. Casinos especially.
