After reading the article, I was rushing to make the same comment you did.
We didn’t abandon Bush, he abandoned the conservatives that put him in office. Now the other RINO’s think that they are going to be able to move left and still maintain our support. They think we have no other choice. In other words, you will just have to take what you get!
Bad mistake!

President Bush has been with us on the WOT and the Justices. He has opposed us fiscally and on immigration, all of which was clear when he ran for office the first time. He has governed pretty much the way I always thought he would.

This has been coming on like a tidal wave since the last election. The President has made some horrible decisions on people and policy and is going to pay the price.

Before I start, other Bush haters here on FR call me a “newbie” because I don’t have internet longevity. I’ll get that out of the way.
For those of you claiming to not support Bush now, even though you elected him twice, which exact policy of his has changed? Bush isn’t flipping and flopping all over the place. His policies have remained the same since he first ran for President. The ones that have changed are you, the psuedo convervatives who don’t have the patience of a three year old. Bush was SO right yesterday during his news conference.
So, Hydroschock, name THE policy of Bush’s that has changed. THE changed policy that has caused you to no longer support him. THE policy that you obviously agreed with when you voted to elect him twice that has changed so drastically. And, please, specifics.
If, as I suspect, your response and the others who will jump on the bashing bandwagon chime in with “immigration”, you better take a long hard look AT Bush’s stance on immigration in 2000 and 2004. It has changed how? It was so important to most of you that it wasn’t even mentioned as anything other than an afterthought.
What I suspect is one of two things. Those of you bashing Bush just don’t have the guts to actually stand up to the media and liberals who are interchangeable, or you were never Bush voters in the first place.

Please remember that Governor Bush NEVER claimed to be a conservative. He said he believed in “compassionate conservatism” which ain’t nearly the same thing.
Also remember the alternatives were AlGore, High Priest of Gaia, and John eFfin’ sKerry. They were pretty good reasons to vote for George W. Bush, conservative or not.
Also, President Bush has never been secretive about his goals. He has done, or tried to do, nearly everything he promised - the immigration reform (aka “shamnesty”) should have been no surprise.
Its one of things I like about him, even as I oppose some of things he is trying to do...

Bush may think his base regards his pissing on them as “Hey, its raining lemonade!”.
But to his pissed on base, its just piss.
Actions have consequences.

I remember Zell Miller (one of the very few Democrats that I really respect)saying that he never left the Party, the Party left him. That is how I and probably a lot of others feel about Bush. He left me so now I’m the bad guy for not supporting him any more????

Ditto. He is not a conservative and seems to show contempt for those who are.
