WASHINGTON, July 11, 2007 – A Montana troop-support group is working toward hard to support the country’s fighting men and women.

“Our mission is to show support of past, present and future military personnel, no matter where they are. At the moment, our main goal is to support all of our troops fighting overseas for our freedom,” said Debby Aznar, founder and president of “True to the Red, White and Blue.”

Aznar’s organization, which is based in Vaugh, Mont., is a new member of America Supports You, a Defense Department program connecting citizens and corporations with military personnel and their families serving at home and abroad.

Recently the group’s volunteers have shown their support with hundreds of care packages sent to troops fighting overseas, Aznar said.

“Our troops are so unselfish that they ask for toys for the kids, candy for the kids, and think (of) nothing for themselves,” she said. “What does this tell you about our troops?”

A list of the care package items servicemembers do request appears on the group’s Web site. And when Aznar gets a thank you letter from a servicemember who received one of her group’s packages, it often shows up there, too.

True to the Red, White and Blue’s Web site also states that the group is there to “help veterans get much-needed rehabilitation after returning home, and to support, thank and help re-educate them.”
