Just so that we are clear: Reaganesque did not claim that he was personally persecuted. He simply pointed out the historical fact that Mormons were persecuted in the Nineteenth Century.
You might also have noted that it took just 20 posts for someone to use the term "con man" in reference to Joseph Smith. That was followed by such measured and dispassionate descriptions as "delusional pathological liar," "a foundation of lies and deceit," and so on.

I think a lot of this bickering would be minimized if LDS aherents would simply admit that its founder, its doctrine and theology have aspects that raise questions - as is also the case with calvinism and arminianism....yet everytime they are raised - so is the flag of persecution and personal malignment....hence the introduction of the word bigot into the discussion
