Was Joseph Smith a delusional pathological liar, yes or no?

Hmmm, No more so than any other Christian. That was easy :)

Only if you're really don't care what kind of silly tripe your post. Joseph Smith was the founder of the religion. So it is very relevant as to whether he was a liar, as opposed to any one of his followers. Is way over your head? Should I continue?

I gave your questions better answers than they deserved. They were nonsense answers.

OK I will match you lie for lie with Christ's lies. Ready, you first : )

They were nonsense answers.

So the truth is nonsense? I guess to a Christian that would make sense. I notice that you didn't even attempt to answer my questions, you are way too easy : ) Maybe you should go pray to Zeus, he might have some real answers for you.

I find it interesting that 'Christians' like you try to go around attacking other beliefs that only differ in tiny degrees, but run away terrified when your core beliefs are challenged. Does whited sepulchers ring a bell?

there exists only two options in the debate: either we are what you say we are, quasi-Christian cultists who have perverted Christ’s doctrines or we are, in fact, a restoration of what was corrupted by the precepts of man over the centuries. Question is: how do you know which is which?

We know it is the former from the Bible itself.

"And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. " (Matt. 16:18). This means that his Church will never be destroyed and will never fall away from him. His Church will survive, guided by the Holy Spirit, until he returns.

Mormons apparently believe that the Church first established by Christ lasted, what, a few years? It took a ‘restoration’ to rebuild that which could not be destroyed.

Make no sense whatsoever.

You’re a legend in your own mind. I’m really terrified of your questions /extreme sarcasm

This is like trying to debate something with a toddler. Go away... shoo!

Ahh, so you want to take your ball and run away home because you can't win. LOL

So to summarize. You called Joseph Smith a liar but refused to provide any evidence. You claimed he used magic glasses and again provided no justification for your assertion, etc. etc. I asked you to answer some very basic basic questions about your own faith and you were either unwilling or unable to answer those simple questions.

So any reasonable conclusion since you were unable to justify your assertions and made no attempt to do so is that you are a liar and a charlatan. Perhaps the saddest is that you were unable to defend your own faith. Is there anything more pitiful than someone without the courage of his convictions? You have my pity and contempt. Good day!

Blah, blah, blah, blah... You responded to my inital questions with nonsense, SO you don’t deserve any dignified response. Period. Oh I know... blah, blah, blah, blah...

You have already been measured and found wanting. There is no reason for you to stick around continually demonstrating your lack of morals and character.

You are dismissed. Good day :)

These mormons have to go on the offense quickly. Hofmann proved the LDS leadership as frauds. The book of mormon is so insanely boring and meandering that it’s hard to believe.

An awful lot of it is ripped off of the KJV version of the OT and NT. The ‘original’ parts of it would fill relatively few pages and would give L Ron a run for the money in weirdness.

Yup but some simple types here don't know that or what the "magic glasses" are and yet want to try to debate on the subject. How silly...

I think they know, they are feigning ignorance.

All that seer stone and stuff is well documented and accepted. islam and mormonism stand out to me as the most patently false, verifiably faked, religions there are.

Mormons aren’t really much of a threat at all though. In fact, lately they do a lot more good than bad overall. The problem is that the religion is based on an absolute fabrication. A blatant one, and probably a deliberately faked one. The 116 missing pages are enough for me to know this.

Hmm, I agree that it is disgusting and offensive, but it is true. You need to try and dispel your ignorance before you post. Have you ever heard of the People of the Book?

And I’m an athiest.

I am too, and I know how to spell atheist. I just happen to know what I don't believe :)

Simple types? Ever hear of the Urim and Thummim? It's biblical, look it up. There are other non-biblical sources that I think you would find fascinating of you really want to know. It you want to discuss this, fine, but if you want to label us "simple types" instead, then no soup for you! Your choice.

Oh, and BTW, one doesn’t get to be a top tier candidate by being a “simple type”

And you might be interested to know that Ronald Reagan surrounded himself with these simpletons. The are also simpletons currently on Bush’s cabinet, in case you wondered.

“Ronald Reagan truly admired the Latter-day Saints. His administration included more members of the Church than any other American president, ever. Three of us, David Fischer, Gregory Newell and I, served on his personal White House staff. Richard Wirthlin was his chief strategist. Ted Bell served as Secretary of Education, Angela Buchanan was Treasurer, Rex Lee was Solicitor General. His White House included Roger Porter, Brent Scowcroft, Richard Beal, Blake Parish, Jon Huntsman Jr., Dodie Borup and Rocky Kuonen, and there were many other Latter-day Saints throughout his Administration. President Thomas S. Monson served on a Presidential Commission on Volunteerism. Others were ambassadors. LDS senators and representatives were held in special regard, and the Tabernacle Choir was his special inaugural guest.” -Stephen M. Studdert, Special Assistant to President Reagan

You completely misunderstood my reference of “simple types”. It was not to LDS people per say but to a single poster who wanted to debate on this subject but showed they knew next to nothing.

It isn't nice to talk about someone behind their back : ) So asking for more specifics makes me simple? LOL

You can go back in your hole now. I have shown you to be a liar and a fraud. Shoo!

TO ALL WHO WANT TO HELP US TO BELIEVE WHAT YOU BELIEVE ABOUT CHRIST AND HOW HE GUIDES HIS PEOPLE ON EARTH.

If this thread is like most others that have anything to do with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, or as we are more often called, the Mormons, it will soon be taken over by those who, for reasons of their own, choose to put down my Church, and those of us who worship with it.

We find no problem with people who really want to talk to us about converting to their religion, we spend a lot of time doing it ourselves.

What we find offensive is when people leave out part of the truth to make a half-true lie , or when some one renames something, that we find important or sacred, so it sounds like gutter talk.

I do not know how to tell the difference all the time. There are some Handles that keep showing up, and they are easy to spot. Sometimes, though, I have given a hard and not so kind response to some who honestly care for us and our salvation.

Please forgive us if we get you mixed up.

Thanks for your time,
fred
