Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton rolled out the ultimate campaign surrogate Monday night, sharing a stage with her husband, Bill Clinton, as one of the world's best-known women sought to reintroduce herself to the voters of Iowa.
The former president came to offer validation for his wife, and his appearance underscored the campaign's determination to deal with what has become a nagging problem in a state that could be crucial in determining who wins the Democratic nomination: Hillary Clinton leads in national polls, but she has been struggling in the state with the first caucuses of the nomination process.
Bill Clinton's message was short and simple. "In 2008," he said, "I will celebrate my 40th year as a voter, and in those 40 years . . . she is by a long stretch the best qualified non-incumbent I have ever had a chance to vote for in my entire life."
The Clintons arrived an hour after the scheduled start of their rally at the Iowa State Fairgrounds, but they received a warm welcome -- he wearing a bright-yellow shirt and she a pastel jacket.
After ticking through Hillary Clinton's record as a young lawyer, first lady of Arkansas, first lady during his two terms in the White House and now as a second-term senator from New York, her husband said: "Here's the second thing I want to say that she really can't say for herself: You will never have anybody in the White House who cares more about how every decision she makes and every problem she faces affects you and the people you know and care about."

Useful idiot. (Or, in this case, useful probable rapist.)
SHE-WHO-MUST-NOT-BE-NAMED is slipping badly overall, and they must bring out the Trump card early.
“You’re not REALLY voting for Hillary, but Bill! (Wink, wink!)
Are you proud of your husband's actions as he surpressed the children, women and men at the Branch Davidian compound in Waco?
Just the fact that she has to resort to bringing him in should speak volumes..........
Fred Thompson (during a debate): “Mrs. Clinton, may I ask you, will this be another one of those co-presidency’s underwritten by your close friends in mainland China”
Hmmmm
I guess the hypocrisy is irrelevant, as long as they're bashing the President. I shouldn't expect anything less, though.
I agree. I think Obama’s ability to raise money has scared her and she’s desperately trying to slow him down. But her timing is way off — it’s too early to bring out Bill, because she has nothing else after that. I think she’s in real trouble.
“If you want more Bill, vote for Hill.” Nah.
Just got done listening to a first class barf-orama on WHO 1040. The usual radio host is gone, replaced by David Yepsen, a longtime native democratic Iowan political wonk. Total softball questions. One caller chastised any of the Clintons for their expressing pseudo outrage at the Scooter Libby commutation, which caused much consternation and prompted an immediate callback by an obvious paid-hack. I think the problem with Democrats and talk radio, the medium is far too democratic, ironically enough. Liberals deal with perceptions rather than facts as most mere mortals.
“...because she has nothing else after that.”
Arkancide?

I can just see him now on that final day:
“Pete, uh, it is okay to call you Pete isn’t it?”
“Whatever, we know each other well and you are surely aware that I’m the guy for you and the big job you’ve got waiting for me.”
“I’ll have the rest of this crowd eating out of my hand before you can say Jack Splat, they’ll line up for breakfast every morning just like clockwork; they’ll do your every bidding; we’ll whip this mess together in no time; I’ll turn this place into Heaven itself; I’ll...”
And, as the clouds part, Old Bill will walk down his last hill muttering all the way.
So BONNIE & CLYDE are on their way to TRY to HIJACK AMERICA (again). Fred is the new sheriff in town and has an ambush awaiting the corrupt team.
The former president came to offer validation for his wife,...was his pants up?
Some people thought that George W. Bush in 2000 was not well qualified to be president, and was there only because of his father’s connections, access to political donors, etc. etc. The same criticism applies to Hillary in that the only reason she is taken seriously is because she stayed married to Bill through it all and has his support and connections and access to donors, etc. etc.
The big difference between Bush and Hillary with their connections is that you rarely saw George H.W. Bush campaigning for George W. Bush. Like him or not, “W” went out there on his own. Whereas Hillary apparently is going to lean on Bill and show us that the first woman president can only get elected by letting her husband run the campaign.
Back in the days of women’s lib, did Betty Friedan and Gloria Steinam and those people ever think that the first woman president would only be elected because she was the wife of a presidnet? And that she would be forced to endure a lot of public humiliation and stay married to him in spite of horrible treatment by her husband?
If this campaign keeps going this way, then they will have to admit that this is another 2 for one campaign, elect one and get the other. I heard Hillary’s campaign didn’t want to revive that concept, but if Bill is acting like he’s the candidate, what else can we think?
It is so banana republic for a former first lady to get elected on her husband’s fame. This is the United States of America. Can’t we do better?
It’s going to be a real sideshow with these two chuckleheads...I am already sick from thinking what kind of political ads they will run on T.V.....She will probably be standing on Mount Rushmore....
Star Power?? Since when is a convicted, impeached, lying, disbarred lawyer a "star"? Star to the liberals, but then, they always had low standards. That "Star" should be shining from behind bars
He’s the perfect liberal....
