Were not anti-Bush.
I wasn’t. I am now.

I was last week.
Buck it up.
There’s democrats to fight. :)
What the hell is this report about, there is no Hispanic base wanting all these illegals in. This is small minority of citizens with a crowd of law breaking illegals who show they are for this.
They can all go to hell unless they follow the rules, marry some American or something...
BEAUTIFUL!

A different tax system would completely alter this calculus.
These people are on drugs. They hang out at too many country clubs and have no clue about the real world. They only live in their fantasies which they confuse for reality.
Hispanics vote Democrat at least 70% of the time.
Every ten new Hispanic voters therefore yields 7 votes for rats and 3 for Republicans.
Ergo, more Hispanics in this country is GOOD for rats and BAD for Republicans.
You would think a paper like the Wall Street Journal could handle basic arithmetic.
Sheesh.
Sorry. I’ve had enough. No sale.
Illegals that are voting? Start the deportations with them, after making prison examples of them.
We need to keep in mind that, irrespective of whether illegals are voting, they are preponderantly being counted in census tallies, especially in states that consciously ignore or aren't even allowed to consider their "undocumented" status. That works hand-in-glove for those interested to see their states' electoral votes swell.

Californa was damaged because they put a bunch of squishy, spineless moderates in charge.
I don't know about Colorado, Nevada and Arizona but the Hispanics I live and work among in New Mexico don't support amnesty and have a lot of distrust/dislike for illegal "Mexican nationals".
Whatever the “base” thinks or wants, restricting immigration is generally a losing issue for Republicans. There is a simple reason for this: voters who want a controlled economy have no reason to vote for Republican candidates.
immigration will be for the repubs what iraq was to the rats, voting motivation

The WSJ Editorials have gotten pretty bad, but ol’ Rupert M. will sure shake things up and the WSJ roundtable will have a mess o new faces....that is a good thing!
Besides, most 2nd and 3rd generation hispanics, people who came here legally for the most part under the 1965 law, are not radical in the way that newcomers from Jalisco and Guadalajara and who learned about Aztlan in kindergarten, are. Many of them are against amnesty and are great, loyal Americans. Even poor Mexicans coming now illegally would be great Americans--in 3 or 4 generations, and only if we get rid of the "diversity" culture. We can't afford to have 3 or 4 generations of Democrat socialist rule, which is what they would have if given this new base of poor voters to hornswaggle.
Here are comments by announced Presidential candidates I could readily find — not to say other announced candidates did not make statements, but they were not readily available:
We’ve just received news that the immigration bill that’s been debated in the Senate has been defeated. I think that’s a victory for the people,” Romney told reporters soon after arriving at a private aviation terminal at Pittsburgh International Airport.

New York City The Rudy Giuliani Presidential Committee released the following statement today regarding the U.S. Senates vote on immigration legislation:
Today a majority in the Senate made clear this bill shortchanged the American people by failing to end illegal immigration and failing to secure our borders. The bill did not deserve to move forward.
As I have said before, this bill which I believed was based more on compromise than on principle failed to do several basic things, including: securing our borders, creating a uniform tamper-proof ID card for all foreign workers and students, establishing a single nationwide database of foreigners, and mandating the full implementation of a biometric check in-check out system.
The legislation was a hodgepodge at best, and I believe it would have ultimately made our country less secure.
I urge the President to use the authority and funds at his disposal to do everything possible to end illegal immigration and secure our borders. Rudy Guiliani

La Mesa, CA. -By a vote of 46 to 53, the U.S. Senate voted today not to proceed with debate on legislation providing amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants presently living in the United States. Following the Senate’s vote, Presidential Candidate and U.S. Congressman Duncan Hunter (R-CA) made the following statement:
“From the very beginning of the immigration debate, the American people were clear in their strong opposition to granting amnesty to more than 12 million illegal immigrants. While this flawed piece of legislation should never have been considered in the first place, I commend my colleagues in the Senate who positioned themselves with the American people and rejected this amnesty bill.
“The idea that amnesty must be accepted in order to achieve secure and enforceable borders is absurd. The effort to provide citizenship benefits to millions of illegal immigrants failed — not once, but twice. It is time that we abandon the concept of rewarding those who have broken our laws and take action to secure our borders and enforce existing immigration laws. This is what the American people have been demanding and this is what they deserve.
“Executing one existing law in particular, the Secure Fence Act, would go a long way to bringing a greater element of security to our Southern land border. By constructing double-layered security fencing across the major smuggling corridors on the U.S.-Mexico border, as required by the Secure Fence Act, we will have taken a significant step towards achieving a border that is enforceable and no longer a conduit for illegal activity.” Duncan Hunter

Thank you!
Thank you for your phone calls, your emails, your contributions and everything you did to help “we the people” kill the Bush-Kennedy-McCain amnesty bill in the Senate yesterday.
This time, the system worked. The American people made their voices heard and 53 Senators did the right thing, standing up to the White House, the Hispanic Lobby, and the corporate special interests.
Our Senate victory is not only a victory for America -— it is a huge victory for our campaign!
The American people have said “no” to amnesty.....and now they need a president who stands foursquare with them, not one who will sell out once they get elected.
I’m that candidate! And our campaign is the vehicle to ensure that amnesty NEVER happens! ... Tom Tancredo
