After a little bit of cogitating, however, you can count the Serbian movement to keep Kosovo amongst your list of losers - it's no different at this point than the Serbian movement to incorporate parts of Croatia ("It's Serbian land!") or Bosnia ("It's Serbian land!").
Did any of those failed adventures destroy the Serbian people?
No.
Did they result in the destruction of the political forces which brough them about?
Sure - the SPS is pretty much a footnote in history at this point.
With the local enlargement of both the EU and NATO, it's no longer a case of Serbia vs. smaller regional neighbors, it's a case of ~10 million vs ~500 million.
Take all the generations you want - your dreams of a resurgent Serbia are just that: dreams.
