Will France Intervene in Lebanon?
Principles of Stratgegy | June 28, 2007 | Santiago de la Vega

It would be a miracle if the French cooperated with the US to save the situation in the Middle East.

Here's how it would unfold.

1. Lebanon asks for French help. 2. France assembles a coalition to pacify Lebanon 3. US joins French coalition 4. France invades and cleans out Bekaa Valley 5. Syria provides a cause for war 6. France invades Syria from the South 7. US invades Syria from Iraq 8. Game over

They could send send wine and cheese to help fortify the troops that actually intervene?

Is Iran sitting on its thumbs while this scenario plays out?

Won’t happen

Besides, you can’t pacify $hit unless you deal with the real antagonists, Syria and Iran. Even we are unwilling to do this.

what you say makes complete sense. But there is a lot of trouble in Lebanon and no oil. They will not do it.

You mean have an actual honest-to-goodness intervention in South Lebanon? That part could work and really change the balance of things. I do not think Syria would do much about it because it is too soon. Realistically Hamas has their arse hanging out in Gaza. Israel could turn that into a kill box right quick if S. Lebanon went critical and Syria knows it. The US and allies would come to France's rescue, big time.

If Fatah decides to actually build their state, there is reason for hope. I see a small window of opportunity for France to make a real difference. Give Hamas time to get themselves sorted out and the scenario might be different.

While starting the game, the computer freezed and showed a blue screen of death with the following message:

There was no way to jump even to step 1. The whole game has to get debugged.
