When you elect a demoagogue, this is to be expected. I am amazed that the financial firms in the state, which Spitzer previously extorted money from, will donate to his campaign. But, that is what passes for politics today. It used to be public service, now it is all about raw power and appeasing constituencies.
Boy am I glad I left that hell-hole, though I do miss the beaches on the east end of Long Island, some of the nicest in the whole country.

A microcosm of life after 2008. The rationalization will be that the Republicans did it, but, we are Bolshecrats and will do it right.

This comment has all the sounds of a man who finally got elected to an office he’s cherished for a long time — only to realize that New York state basically has THREE governors. New York’s governor basically has no more power than the state assembly leader (Sheldon Silver) and the state senate leader (Joe Bruno).

Downplaying the importance of passing laws, the freshman governor said he favored regulatory changes and executive orders to run the state -- neither of which require prior approval by the legislature. As much as I despise this guy, I have to admire his "in your face" honesty about who he really is, much like Hell Clinton coming right out and saying she's in agreement with Marx..."take things from you for the bigger good"...(paraphrase).
It's alway refreshing for me to know my enemies.

Governor Spit, the most corrupt governor in the state’s history, now believes he is the Fuhrer of New York.

Although on it’s face this looks bad, keep in mind that New York has the most corrupt, fossilized legislature in the country. Reform is impossible under it’s current structure. Even though I voted for Faso, I have a sneaking respect for Spitzer.
