Damn. One of my favorite places in the world.

Looks like winds have died down and should be light this evening, picking up a bit tomorrow.. humidity is 37%
Mine too, we used to spend our summers there when I was a kid.
That’s a very sad photo.
I go during winters. Skiing is awesome.
Thank you, Sierra Club (which, according to Fox News, fought clearing underbrush from the area and kept an access road used to speed such clearing closed).......
I totally blame the leftist “nazi” enviromaniacs for this destruction. The nazi’s want the world to be like 1932 again with everything being pristene. Who the hell gave the nazi’s the right to legislate without a vote from the people they represent. I guess that’s why we also have HOV lanes and today we have 189 million illegals on their way. We have no representative government!
“years of forest management” let to the problem? Make that forest mismanagement and they might have something there.
Did the Corleone compound survive?
Fleur-de-Lac? Oh, the old Kaiser Estate.
It’s OK so far. ;-)
Thanks, Brad’s Gramma,,,They’re gonna need a lot of prayers.
Tomorrow is going to be a long one with winds rising and humidity falling...

Fire Weather Watch
http://www.wunderground.com/US/CA/072.html
Statement as of 3:18 PM PDT on June 26, 2007
... Fire Weather Watch in effect from Thursday afternoon through Thursday evening...
The National Weather Service in Reno has issued a Fire Weather Watch... which is in effect from Thursday afternoon through Thursday evening.
A strong low pressure system is expected to become stationary off the West Coast and bring strong winds to the region Thursday.
Southwest winds will increase Thursday afternoon to 10 to 20 mph with gusts of 30 to 40 mph likely. In addition... very dry conditions over the region will allow relative humidities to drop to between 6 to 15 percent.
Gusty winds are expected to continue Friday... although humidities will increase some.
A Fire Weather Watch means that critical fire weather conditions are possible. Listen for updates from the National Weather Service and possible upgrades to a red flag warning.
Did you hear about the one in Riverside? It WASN’T a brush fire, but WHAT a mess on the freeways...
No, hadn’t seen the Riverside one,, I know they have one in the Tehachapi area, they had a good sized brush fire not too far from Stanford yesterday, a few evacuations .
This is gonna be a rough summer all over the state.
