It's business as usual for Ed Jew despite efforts to oust him

San Francisco Supervisor Ed Jew may be facing the legal fight of his life, but you wouldn't have known it the other afternoon as he sat in a booth at the Noriega Teriyaki House at 25th Avenue and Noriega Street and fielded a complaint from an elderly constituent about her pesky problem with raccoons.

"I will contact Animal Control," Jew assured her.

For nearly 90 minutes, Jew scribbled down notes and collected complaint forms from residents with a litany of grievances -- a sinkhole on Geary Boulevard near the Great Highway, bicycle riders not obeying the law, the garbage piling up in front of a Walgreens, and a monster house going up on 27th Avenue.

Jew, taking a break for tea with us, made it clear that he had no intention of stepping down, despite an FBI investigation into a $40,000 payment from prospective tapioca-drink store owners and efforts by the city attorney to oust him because he allegedly hasn't been living in his district. He could go to prison for that one as well, thanks to a separate criminal case filed by the district attorney.

"I think it's best if I continue to do my job and go through the (legal) process of what my attorneys are doing," Jew said. "How can they try you before everything is in? ... It's what the Constitution is about -- giving everyone fair treatment."

If Jew is feeling the stress, he wasn't showing it, saying that he's "proud to have a strong family and supporters saying, 'You are there for a purpose ... and hang in there.' ''

Outside, a contingent of cops kept an eye on a small group of protesters waving signs urging Jew to quit.

A guy goes into the bar and asks the bartender if he’s ever heard of any mexican jews. The bartender says no. But goes in back to ask the boss. He comes back and says we have orange jews, cranberry jews, apple jews but no mexican jews.

That is a horrible photo shop. Looks like the Comical is all on board the let's get 'Jew' band wagon.

This is what that city does to anyone who strays outside their narrow limits of leftist bigotry.
