Chertoff can’t be impeached because he is not an elected official. Not correct. Alcee Hastings was a judge and was impeached and removed from office prior to being elected a congresscritter.
From what I have read, cabinet-level officials can be impeached and removed from office.

I like Herman Cain. So far he is the only one I heard (besides me) who called Mitt Romney’s “MittCare” health-care plan as Socialist.
He can move to FL and run for Senate here. He would womp Sen. Illegal Alien (Mel Martinez) in a primary.
