‘Here is the fundamental problem with the rankings: At Duke, you have 88 nut jobs, a number of them in the history department, looking to influence the still-developing minds of the young.’

Anyone that thinks ‘tenure’ is a good idea only need to review whats taken place at Duke in the past year.

Word is that the settlement w/ Duke absolved the 88 of all liability - the second stupid move of the Duke LAX boys.

Actually, this illustrates one of the huge problems in America today. Like it or not, white men where the prime movers in building America. That’s a fact, but to simply point out that fact in America today is considered racist.

And that dovetails into the problem we see here. White men in America today are immediately seen as irrelavant. White men are either controlling, evil, greedy and racist or stupid, lazy, incompetent and racist. Our culture is trying to marginalize white men. The feminists told us of the talent we were ignoring and losing by not having women in key positions. We’re trying to swing the other way and throw away another pool of talent.

Is there a list of the 88 somewhere?
That list should be kept alive on the web and in the blogosphere.
forever.

that condemned the culture of racism and sexism on the campus.

Because that kind of culture would be unjust.Of course, ignoring the constitutional right to presumption of innocense is not unjust in their minds. That's why I wrote the Duke spokesman that my well credentialed kid, who is a rising senior and within Duke's geographic area and well within their academic requirements, will have nothing to do with them. They might as well save the cost of of any more letters to my household.

accusing someone of a criminal act is not protected speech.

In fact when the DA said publicly those boys were “innocent”, those 88 Duke hatemongers became INSTANTLY civilly liable for slander and defamation for everything they said and wrote.

I would have loved to take that case.

The standard jury instructions would have destroyed them.

In fact I bet there is a criminal statute about false criminal accusations made in public.

“the Nifong 88 apparently remain convinced of their righteousness, of their higher truth, although they are as prejudiced as racists and sexists. They just have different targets.”

These people, more than any others - wanted so badly to hand the chronic-malcontents of the race-pimping cottage industry a white-on-black gang rape at any cost. One can just imagine the fuss if they had gotten away with it, since white-on-black rape is statistically nonexistent according to FBI/DOJ data.

It is interesting how these judgmental, hyperventilating, sweaty, arrogant and ignorant 88 ran out screaming, “Witches! Witches!”

So let me pick a really expensive school where everyone in the town hates me and the teachers live to catch me in some contrived ideological transgression. Hah!

Aren’t these professors 88 guilty of “hate speech” that would be punishable under the PC codes of conduct at Duke? If I were the three falsely accused students I would be seeking to hoist them on their own petard.

“They have been conspicuously silent since the facts started to overtake the fabrications of sleazebag district attorney Mike Nifong.”

Are we seeing, in this attack on the politically correct gang of 88, a dollop of political correctness on the part of the Washington Times?

Scant mention is made of the lying whore on whose scaffolding of lies Nifong was able to hang his Potemkin prosecution.

Were it not for Crystal Mangum, none of this would have been possible. Yet her name doesn’t even come up in the article.

Everyone’s to pay, except the poor black victim of her own mendacity.

For the next two years the faculty at Duke will be led by one of the Group of 88, Paula McClain. She’s the new chair of the Academic Council.

She has already stated that she will not let any terms of the settlement change her right to say whatever she wants.

Also the student who sent the threatening email to the coach was also named to one of their cultural initiative committees.

Duke has no shame.

It’s not as if Duke is the only school to have 88 whack jobs. Almost all of them do. Many of them have many more than 88 whackos. This was something we definitely considered when choosing a college for our sons.

I really wish the settlement had included a requirement for sensitivity training to rid them of their racial bigotry and class envy - not that they would have learned anything from the courses
