Most people are fairly reasonable. Nobody likes paying taxes, but they are a necessity and the vast majority of people realize that.

The "vast majority" of Americans don't pay net taxes, so what you say is probably true. But for those who do, especially those like these folks who are in the top 5%, it is just a little harder to realize. When you pay more than half your income to fund socialist programs that are against everything you stand for it is hard to realize; when you watch those who made poor decisions prosper while your dreams just keep getting pushed aside for another year it ain't easy; when you know you could retire this year at 40 without the confiscatory tax rate and live off your investments, but instead have to work for many more years.

Hi durasell, re your:"Nobody likes paying taxes, but they are a necessity...

Are there any services provided to you by federal public employees that you really wanted and would prefer to buy from them rather than other sources?

In my own experience private/parochial schools have been more cost-effective than government schools. The Swiss model of national defense (all able-bodied folks trained and armed as a national militia) seems a lot more cost-effective than ours. And we may be overpaying for public roadway maintenance.

I doubt most of us need/request much of anything from federal public employees.

What few tasks we would want to hire them for can probably best be funded by our traditional National Tarrif/import tax.
