Where I’m at, I’d say 90-95% of males are circumcised. It’s been shown to reduce the occurence of carcinoma of the penis to essentially nothing, to minimize the spread of STDs, and to prevent infection. Sounds like a good thing in my book.

Mutilating baby boys is one of the worst medical practices still perpetuated today. If you are considering doing this at least just wait until your son is old enough to understand the consequences.

A friend of mine said that her grandfather insisted on all his boys and grandsons being circumcised. Seems that he was in WWI and there was a real problem with gangrene in uncircumcised men.

I’ve got no problems with it either, although the AAP advises against it.
