Fred Thompson on Tape [Peter Robinson]
On Monday, former senator Fred Thompson spent half a day at the Hoover Institution, discussing policy with a roomful of Hoover fellows. In this, my first encounter with Thompson, I was hugely impressed—hugely. He proved relaxed, likeable, determined, warm, funny, and—a trait not always seen in candidates for high office—humble. (He reached into his briefcase, pulled out a three-ring binder, and then spent the entire session taking notes as assiduously as a college student.)
When we broke for lunch, Thompson and I sat down for a brief interview. To take a look at the man for yourself, click here.

Saw the video yesterday. It was great.
Fred could be the Savior this country do desperately needs. And I am sure he has all the other GOP doubtfuls quaking in their boots.
Wow, that was awesome! When you hear Fred speak for himself, it is very heartening. This man appears to be a “Statesman,” and it has been a very long time since we have seen one of those. It has been so long, that a great many Americans may not even know what the term means.
Yeah, that speech is just awesome. Especially when you consider that he was saying those things before 9/11 when nobody else was.
Sorry, I thought that was a reply to another speech I posted, not this one...I liked this one too! lol
The first time I ever saw FDT was in the movie "In the Line of Fire" (1992). He was the WH Chief of Staff, and Clint Eastwood was Secret Service agent Frank Horrigan. At the time, I had no idea that FDT actually was a politician. I will continue to research, but so far he has my support.
