“...for mature beings...”
LOL, wut?
Not a "please" or an attempt at "meaty discussion". No "informing", "exchange of ideas" or 'consensus building'.
Simply an off kilter demand for negative opinions of Amway/Alticor to be withheld. Talk about acerbic.....
As for the dislike of commentary that "beats up" or is "negative" of persons or entities, that is ridiculous and absurd. Holding hands and singing Kumbaya with a demoncrat or enemies of the People will not happen. Expect harshness, vitriol and vicious polemics......that is, after all, the beautiful ugliness of politics.
I appreciate both of your reasoned responsed to the typical hatred aimed towards that company. Personally, I have been using amway products for many years, since the late seventies. I delivered to a lady and asked her what this was all about as I was intrigued. They invited us over and showed us there business. I signed up and did some business but mostly I have been using the products at wholesale all these years, and they really are great products.
It is too bad that some people ruined it for others, but that is those people, not the company. They are a terrifically run company and exemplify the free enterprise system that I thought those on this site appreciated. Dick Devos is planning on running for governor in Michigan again and would be a great governor. It would benefit everyone if they were to be better informed before launching like a knee jerk liberal. Try and locate a talk given by Rich DeVos recorded back in the sixties called Selling America. It is a classic. You will think you are listening to a Ronald Reagan clone.
How many here would feel comfortable in being a farmer not knowing if you were doing it right, if the weather would cooperate and being diligent in doing the chores everyday that must be done.
MLM would employ a lot of those traits in a different way and it would take a few years to before a steady income you could depend on.
Doing MLM one could learn about them selves about their weakness and strengths, developing ones creative ability and experience the joys of success.
When I left MLM I took with me skills I did not have before and could apply them in other areas of my life
“And if you build a direct business (which can be done in a year or two if you work hard), all your products and your downlines products are delivered to you by truck.”
What kind of a reward is that? Then do you have to store product, inventory and dispense it?
lol!
I had one demonstrate the nerve to ask me if I wanted to “joint-venture” a business with him.
OOOOOH was I ever angry! I quickly uninvited him from my home.
I bought a table saw and a cheese and tomato sandwich from Amway. The saw broke, but the sandwich still cuts boards pretty good.
Should I report this to the IRS as a loss and can I continue claiming the illegal alien who picked the tomato as a dependent?
I don’t know, but I guess reply #69 was directed to you. ;^)
Hey, do you want to get into a Chocolate MLM? It’s a sweet deal.
Why doesn’t Scamway and Smellaluca and all these other not ready for prime time players vie for some shelf space at the 99 Cent Store like everybody else?
Yeah right. You copied and pasted this from the Amway site, didn't you? Let me guess. You can rise to the top by learning from the successful dealers through their tapes and tools. Only they are living a lie as well.
You know what I learned from Amway? That Amway people aren’t afraid to lie to you to “grow the business”. When I would ask them directly, they would deny they represented Amway. I have yet to meet one that would tell the truth. That speaks volumes about their business.
What do you expect? I was a hell of a creepy post.
TomB, Im addressing this to you because you were the first who commented to my post and quite frankly, I dont give a rip about taking the time to copy and paste the other addresses and responding to the other crap.
I know. Gosh, it is SO tiring actually pressing TWO keys.
I just want to put a response on the forum. And instead of your quip, how about just asking me why I might have posted what I did.
Heck, I did ask to see your badge.
Frankly, if you felt so self-important enough that you could bring a negative discussion to an end by just posting "stop it", without any defense, what's the point of asking?
I have been part of this forum for several years. I rarely post - mainly because I dont want to be the recipient of potential acerbic and often destructive responses/comments.
Here's a hint: If everybody avoids you because they say you smell, maybe some deodorant is called for.
Several years ago .... Not so anymore.
Oh please, spare me the "good old days" crap. Been there, done that. Compared to the days of eschoir, A+bert, Rivero and the rest, this place is Mr. Roger's Neighborhood.
I am not associated with Amway, but from what I know they have done far more to promote a civil society than most of the remainder of our country.
Yes, it is always a good way to promote a civil society by lying to a potential recruit just to get him to a meeting.
Unfortunately, this tone and type of the Amway discussion has become more of the norm for this forum.
Heh. You put "discussion" in scare quotes when you are the one with the one sentence demand for silence. Yea, that is a great way to invite "discussion". "If anyone is going to badmouth Amway, don't". Great opening line sparky.
And, yeah, I know I dont have to be here.
But then who would tell us what we are and aren't allowed to talk about?
(can I still see your badge?)
I DIESPISED AMWAY IT RUIN EVERYTHING FOR LEGIT MLM
That's a fact. I have great respect for the founders.
Having grown up in Grand Rapids, I have seen what they have done for the city. Hospitals, convention halls, sports arena, etc. There is hardly any large public or private venture in Grand Rapids that is not funded with Amway money.
I sold Avon for 9 years, and loved it too :) Everyone got Avon for presents, LOL! Remember Sweet Honesty cologne? I wore it as a young girl, and so did my girls. Timeless is still horrible.
That was a good idea about the nail polish, I would have never thought of that. I was blessed with good skin, so I did sell a lot of skin products though. Speaking of which, I need to find an Avon lady. I know they’re online (who isn’t these days), but I want to give my business to a person.
Don’t know a lot about Mary Kay, except that their products are a little too pricey for me. Tupperware rocks! All mine is gone, and I especially miss my cake saver. I’m sure someone up here is selling it.
As for Amway, my ex’s brother and sister in law were in it for a while, many years ago. They did a presentation at the annual family Christmas party. Got roped into a Prime America presentation years later at a BBQ that was just supposed to be a Labor Day cookout. These people were the parents of my oldest daughter’s best friend. I had just had a baby, and needed to go home. Finally shot my then husband a few looks so we could get out of there.
I hate MLM schemes!
No, I didn’t copy and paste it. I wrote it. And you don’t have to buy tapes. I suggest you avoid tapes, personally, and avoid those who sell them.
Wanna make a fortune selling jeans at Abercrombie? If you want to, and actually outsell everyone, maybe you can. If you sit on your ass, you won’t.
A very small percentage of Amway folks build a strong distributorship. But those who do build it, build it out of hard work and persistence.
The only “dispensing” you have to do is set a once-a-week pick up time, where your folks stop by and pick up their merch. If they miss you that week, they can pick up the next. Say, Thursdays from 6 to 9 pm. No big whoop. Be home, and be ready for your folks to stop by.
How hard is that?
