Big Gang RoundUp In Hillsborough County

TAMPA, Fla. (970 WFLA) - It's called Operation Pure Business-Pura Tranza, and investigators say it has resulted in the arrests of 58 suspected gang members in Hillsborough County.

In addtion, investigators have seized 40 weapons.

The name of this 10-month-long investigation came from the the words "Para Tranza" tattoed as eyebrows on one of the suspects.

"With today's arrests, I believe the gangs know we mean business, too," said Hillsborough Sheriff David Gee.

Gee said the investigation escalated when detectives discovered graffitti that targeted law enforcement. They say many of those arrested are believed to be members of Sur 13 and the Kuntry Boyz.

"These individuals are a scourge to society,"said Gee.

Will this roundup make a dent in the area's burgeoning gang problem? Gee belives it will.

"I think we're doing well. This has been a sustained effort over the last few years. It is getting tougher. It is a nationwide trend in large metropolitcan areas and it's not getting better across the country, but I think that we're doing well in this community. I think we're getting our arms around this problem, early on."

These alleged gang members will be released on their own recognizance. /sarc

Florida is awash in gang activity and all they could manage was 58 arrests?

Looking at the picture of the guns at the link I can’t see any with pistol grips or high cap mags. Heck none of them are even black!

HMMMM, maybe EBRs aren’t used much by bad guys.

Particularly disturbing is how long it took to make it happen. In spite of my Libertarian tendencies, I think when gangs take up residents in large numbers in a certain area, someone should be able to declare some type of marshall law, and either go in and wipe them out or arrest them in large numbers.

So, targeting regular citizens wasn't enough to get the deputies out of the donut shops to enforce the law?

Remember the regular citizen (40ish woman who’s father was having the heart attack) and she got pulled over? She begged and pleaded with the officer to let her go, she finally pulled slowly ahead and the officer did a felony stop with back up and slammed her on the car hood in the hospital parking lot. Her story turned out to be true, she was looking for her father’s car to see if he arrived yet.——Same Sheriff’s dept.
Luckily the dash video leaked out and we got to see what a shaved ape that butt head is.

BD,

Yep. Their thoughts go something like this “I’ll enforce the law if it puts money in the budget (speeding tickets, etc.) and doesn’t endanger me or I go after them if they hurt or threaten one of us. You (the public) are on your own and I don’t want you to have guns cause you might be able to stand up for yourself and that could hinder my employment and union”.

That is exactly what I have come to believe about the LEO and illegals.

The solution to these illegal alien or “ethnic” gangs is simple for a society that seriously wants to be rid of them..

Declare them “Dangerous Pests”, legal to “take” with no bag limit...shooting over baited fields permissible.

Bounty for specifically identified individuals....
