I'm displeased with a lot of what Bush has done, but this whole-hog piling on him by the Republicans is sickening. It's not about blind loyalty--criticize him all you want. But when they say things like he "wouldn't be invited to the White House," as one of the candidates said (I'm paraphrasing), I lose respect for the candidate.
Sure, he's in freefall now. But Bush has done good things, and one or two that will be considered GREAT things over time.
Meanwhile, Romney's achieved what great things other than making a pile of money and introducing Hillarycare to my state. Great.

“the image of the United States has suffered globally based on the perception that it invaded Iraq unilaterally.”
That is the world’s problem, isn’t it Dipp? Unless you agree in which case it’s your problem too. Get the hell out if you don’t like it here.
PS, Dipp: We didn’t invade unilaterally.

I guess I don’t see anything there that constitutes as being “anti-Bush”. We can all be critical of the President and his conduct or lack there of in so many things, but this is considered “anti-Bush”?
I would rather consider this constructive criticism.

I don't care what the rest of the world thinks about America. That's what a Tancredo, Ron Paul, Duncan Hunter, or Fred Thompson would say, and that's the stuff that reasonates with the American people.
Romney dropped the ball on this one.

Romney said his call for expanding the U.S. prison camp for terrorists at Guantanamo Bay, CubaI like Rush's idea better, ship them to Anwar, since it's so pure and pristine.
They can stick their behinds in the air and point to mecca all they want when a day is six months long.

I fully expect Mitt to call for any future US military action to have to pass a “Global Test” of opinion.

Gosh. Romney’s comments from just today will require at least twenty thousand words of intricate spin from his staff.
To: NormsRevenge
When they finish, he will have been for it, against it, for it all along, against it all along, misunderstood, and right about it in every case. Confusing? Well, that’s the idea...

Mitt seems to be the strongest republican candidate so far. It will be a close race between him and Hillary but I think he has a good chance of winning.
To: NormsRevenge
"I do think that we have suffered over the past several years for a number of reasons, and I think you probably know what they are," So what is the plan Mitt? Let Iran obtain nukes while we try to get international consensus? Sign up for whatever global warming treaty Europe thinks we should? It is easy to get everyone to like you, just do whatever they want you to.
To: NormsRevenge
I would like a President to say: "I'm not going to sacrifice one American life to improve our image overseas, period. If our soldiers need to use landmines they will use them. If our CIA needs to waterboard Al Qaida suspects they will. If Gitmo is the best place to keep unlawful combattants then that's where they'll stay. We won't compromise one iota of war-fighting capability to mollify anti-American sentiment."

Now all we need is for someone talented with Photoshop to swap "Romey" for "Kerry" and we'll be set for 08.
