About 240 federal agents, police officers and police academy students were deployed to an area in south Kansas City Wednesday in search of 18-year-old Kelsey Smith, who disappeared four days ago.

Body reportedly found during search for missing woman
A body was reportedly found this afternoon as more than 200 law enforcement officers searched a 900-acre area in south Kansas City, according to multiple sources close to the investigation.
The search there came after police discovered that Kelsey Smith’s cell phone signaled a tower in that vicinity Saturday night.
The phone signaled the tower at 8 p.m. Saturday. Kelsey’s car was last seen at 7:10 p.m. leaving the Target store at 97th Street and Quivira Road in Overland Park, which is about 20 miles from the search location...

How incredibly sad.
It’s sad. I just moved to Texas from KC a couple years ago and I’m sending the suspects picture to everyone I can up there to try to get some ID on him.
Oh no! I thought this time might be different and the victim would be returned safe. Prayers for her family.
It rarely seems that these incidents turn out good anymore.
Well, this is certainly the worst news I’ve heard in a long time. They had such a good description and video of the suspect, and I thought there would be enough time to find her. But then the days dragged on. Poor thing. I hope they find the person or people responsible and rip their lungs out.

I guess it’s kind of obvious, but I really hope they catch this guy SOON.
That beautiful young woman graduated from high school less than two weeks ago. This is the most heinous thing I have heard and I pray for swift justice for the monster who did this.
Fox TV just said they know who the guy is on the surveillance camera and that he has a long criminal record.
There’s word that police know who the suspect is and are running him down now.
OMG. What a senseless and evil thing to do. Must calm down to be able to pray for her and her family...
I hope they leave the tire tread marks on him for the parents of that poor girl...
When they find him I hope they don’t take him alive because since the body was found in Mo. but she was abducted from Ks. there will be so much jurisdictional problems that he may not get justice.
There’s now reports that the suspects vehicle has appeared back in the Target Parking lot within the last 30 minutes.
