A crowd of people put their hands over their hearts, saluted and thrust flags in the air as the slow procession of Cpl. Joseph Anzack Jr.'s white, silver-trimmed, horse-drawn hearse made its way through the streets of Torrance on Friday.
Many stood outside their homes to honor a man who made the ultimate sacrifice in military duty, and to mourn with his family.

Cpl. Anzack will be flown back to Washington D.C., where he will be finally laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetery.
May Cpl. Anzack rest in peace, and may his loved ones be assured that his courage, loyalty, and ultimate sacrifice will NEVER be forgotten.
PGR Ping!
Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." -Manuel II Paleologus
Yep....The UGlies were there, although they were kept far away from the service.
God rest Cpl. Joseph Anzack Jr’s. soul and comfort his family.
Gawd, will they ever give up? Do they realize the “right” to spew their hate-filled bile was paid for with the blood of the troops they spit upon?
Oh, they were spewing all right. It was disgusting. But they were kept well away, and fortunately the family didn’t even have to see them.
Unfortunately, one of the Phelps crowd sent Cpl. Anzack’s mother a nasty letter Thursday. Real sickos, they are.
Thank you for posting this. The video really captures the moment.
I was also there with my family and fortunately didn’t notice any protesters, but we live close by and walked there.
I was most impressed by the quite moving and articulate testimonials given by Cpl. Anzack’s fellow high school students and teachers. Their speeches underscoring Cpl. Anzack’s devotion to his friends and family really give me hope for this next generation.
His passing is truly a loss for this country and I can only pray for him, and for his family to be at peace.
Deepest regards and appreciation for the service of Cpl. Anzack. God bless, and be with his loved ones. Prayers here.
The police kept the UGlies on the corner of PCH and Calle Mayor. There wasn’t that many, but they were there. I don’t know if they stayed until the service started.
Can’t the family sue for that? Or at least have the FBI crawl up the Phelps’ collective asses for sending threatening materials through the mail?
SOMETHING has to stop these people. Too many of our heroes and their families are having to be tortured TWICE. This is insane.
Fortunately the route that the procession took precluded the family from ever seeing any garbage protesters.
Great slide show, very nice tribute. Looks like the town came out big.
Yes, it was very touching to see so many turn out. It was especially poignant seeing all the little kids waving flags.
We had over 200 bikes and several cages show up for this mission. Probably over 250 PGR members. We had members from several states, including one rider from Montana. Many of us were reduced to tears at the showing of Patriotism and respect for Cpl. Anzack. It was indeed very moving.
Prayers for this brave man and his family. He was tortured and killed by the Muslims, and we cannot imagine how horrible it was or how horrible this is for his family.
And why is this not the lead story in every paper today? I honor him and I am disgusted by us.
This is the real America. Honoring our own.
