Any comments from President Bush yet?

Pretty scary. I fell asleep with Fox News on, and woke up and thought it was a dream...until I focused on what the anchors were saying :/

One word Timothy Mcveigh. The smoking gun isn’t just a foreign treat. There’s lots more homegrown ones like him.....

Timothy McVeigh is actually two words.

When it comes to identifying the religion at the heart of contemporary terrorism, it starts with an I and ends with a SLAM (as in slam dunk) [thanks to Mark Steyn].

**Four charged in plot to set off explosives at JFK**

Now this is Bush's fault! Unlike his predecessor, George W. Bush has shown unyielding courage by standing up to our enemies all the time ducking unparalleled flack from cut and runner/surrender Democrats. You can bet the MSM, Pelosi, Kennedy, Reid will not give the President any credit for keeping America safer since 9/11 by tearing down the Gorelick wall and beefing up security.

Thank heavens for President Bush!

No, thats been tried before...It didn’t work...

And if it was implemented, it wouldn’t be allowed to work anyway...

Unless they are citizens, these people should not be arrested. They should be captured as the enemy aliens they are. Then sent to Gitmo, or since they were operating without benefit of uniforms, summarily shot.

If they are citizens, then they should be arrested, tried for treason, and then shot.

Save the immigrant hysteria. They came right out and identified them as Muslims from Guyana and Trinidad

Then they were either immigrants or invaders, or both to some degree. Wonder if they were legal, not illegals are hispanics you know.

"...Strange how they didn’t ID nationality of the dudes."

I think their names were:

Pepe LePew
Ole Olsen
Mickey O' Shea

A CAIR Representative said. "That's our story and we're sticking to it!"

When was it tried?

If you're referring to the Japanese internment, there is some suggestion that it did work, because there were apparently subversive contacts in the Japanese community and there were Japanese attacks on the West Coast that were not publicized at the time.

It's true that the vast majority of Japanese had nothing to do with Imperial Japan and were unfairly imprisoned; but that still doesn't negate the fact that some bad people were also imprisoned, and this may have prevented worse things from happening to our forces or even our civilian population.

Also, if Muslims realized that there was a serious cost to pay, some of them might rethink their jihadi rhetoric. Right now, they can say and even do whatever they want, in the name of their religion, but we still do not take it seriously. The reality is that if they say that they want to take over our country, act like it by trying to kill Americans and destroy our economy and institutions, and in addition have a 1400 year track record of this behavior, we should take it seriously.

Several of the 9-11 hijackers were legal immigrants who had mererly overstayed their visas.

If they overstayed, they weren't ever legal *immigrants*, but rather legal *visitors* or temporary "residents".

I have no doubt it might be somewhat effective...

But in todays ninnified, TV pop-culture, lets do what feels good society, around the entire world...

If we did this, let say after the next big attack, I think that action would spur a tremendous “outside the islamic circle” backlash that we might not be able to fend off...

But like I’m thinking...Its better to burn out, than fade away...

It really is a sad state of affairs when it haas become passe’ to defend and or protect yourselves and your country from foriegn threats...You’re expected to take it, be sorry for being attacked, try to find a way to help those who attacked you, because you deserved it to begin with, and when you are attacked again, acept that you failed in the first attempt, and try harder before they hit you again...

Its a vicious cycle, one that I believe is the backbone of the democrat party and the liberal/socialists within their ranks...

Personally, I’d like to avid giving them any more power than they have right now...

But I digress...Nope incarcerating the muslim population, deproting them, etc etc...Although not offensive to some, would not work anyway...

The experiment in WWII proved that...

But since this apparent “home-grown angry muslim followers” are to be the newest in a long line of extremists that are developing these nefarious “plans/attacks”...

I agree 100% that we better get control of our borders and who is in our country or we will suffer another attack.

I agree 100% that this latest JFK plot is a great indicator of how flawed our naturalization process really is in this country. The same process that will have to handle many millions if the immigration bill passes.

I just do not want our side to morph into a "gov't conspiracy" under every news report group!

My post was directed to someone who asserted that the gov't was witholding the immigration status of the suspects in the JFK plot. That was simply not true.

If our movement is to have credibility, we cannot manipulate every event into a gov't conspiracy to shove immigration down our throats. That would be self-defeating.

There is enough in this story to be very damning of the current immigration process without resorting to contrived conspiracies.

I hope this is clear to you.

I am not willing to credit TSA or HS with the same logical thought process though. The searches are largely politically correct quota policies to appease the ACLU and CAIR and their ilk.

Actually, you should credit the DHS for this as it originated from existing intelligence on airline threats.

The fact that it fits with the PC crowd just illustrates how widespread a threat we face.

Sure, I knew thats what you meant all along...I just observed a few things you said that left me slightly scratching my head...Not that I am worthy to challenge anyone on this website too much...;-)

But whe you said this I have to wonder why...

“I just do not want our side to morph into a “gov’t conspiracy” under every news report group!”

Thats a hard sell considering the participants on the website are cut from a very credible and knowledgable section of our citizenry...

I would err on the side of a FReepers commentary over just about anything I hear in the media...And how manipulated that bunch of yahoos (MSM) obviously are, right???

I don’t believe we (FR) are that bad...

I do believe that there is are a lot of issues and incidences that do have connections way beyond the obvious that many do not see...

And since this website produces and maintains a ton of “thinkers outside the box” on a lot of problems...I believe our discussions are easier to disseminate and produce substantive evaluations and solutions...

No matter how crazy they seem to be...

JFK Screeners Find Bomb Residue, Let Man Go - Man Released After Positive Explosives Test At JFK

JFK Screeners Find Bomb Residue, Let Man Go Man Released After Positive Explosives Test At JFK Image

Scott Weinberger Reporting

(CBS) QUEENS A man’s sneakers tested positive for explosives at JFK airport. The sneakers were confiscated, but the man walked free. However, federal screeners didn’t tell any member of law enforcement what happened for days.

The man used the name Gamal Badawi with U.S. immigration officials last Friday at JFK airport. At the time, authorities were unable to use the computerized system that takes a visitor’s fingerprints and checks it against various databases, including the terror watch list. As a result, Badawi’s documents checked out against the information locally available at JFK.

Federal sources told CBS 2 that Badawi passed through U.S. Customs and went into the airport to connect to a Delta flight to Iowa via Chicago. As he went through security, a Transportation Security Administration screener pulled Badawi out of the line.

Suspicious Sneakers

Badawi was wearing high-top sneakers that, CBS 2 was told, had tape around them and rubber-bands sticking out of them. The screener told Badawi to take off his sneakers. They were then checked for explosives, and airport sources told us that the reading for explosives was off the charts. “The highest ever,” one federal source explained.

I could not agree more. Most Freepers are excellent analysts and bring knowledge to the news like no other forum I have ever participated in.

That is why it upset me so much when a single person was distorting the facts to suit an agenda. Freepers don't need to do that.

3 to Be Extradited in Alleged JFK Plot
08.06.07

Excerpt

A judge Monday ordered three men extradited to the U.S. to face charges in an alleged plot to attack New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport, and a confidential U.S. document said they planned to seek help from Iran.

Chief Magistrate Sherman McNicolls rejected without comment a defense argument that the men could not be extradited on conspiracy charges under Trinidadian law.

Taped conversations between the alleged conspirators show they planned to seek Tehran’s help in a strike intended to dwarf the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks, according to a 28-page document signed by Assistant U.S. Attorney Marshall C. Miller and delivered to lawyers here.
