His stance on immigration is insane.

I like the man,but this is insane.

Its like all the politicians in Washington DC have caught an insanity bug. It doesnt seem to matter what Americans feel in this they are going to shove it down our throats.

What happens in ten years when another 10 million are here and demanding to be allowed to stay
The part of the bill that would stop them at the border is pure BS. Even the most stupid American should be able to see that.

a temporary-worker program

My understanding is that there is nothing "temporary" about it. Illegal aliens can simply renew their "Z Visas" over and over and over again until they die.

The back-taxes provision that could trigger the blue slip came from Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), who continues to take heavy fire on the presidential hustings for supporting the immigration deal. McCain introduced a back-taxes amendment after a conference call in which Republican bloggers mentioned reports that the Bush administration had asked that this year’s bill not force the very costly process of tax collection among illegal immigrants.

Hopefully we can get rid of this bill and Lindsey Graham, too.

Can you illuminate us as to WHY he is doing this?

the only half-a**ed explanation I’ve heard, is that some Republicans (maybe twice as delusional as democrats) think that these 12-20 million criminals-cum-voters might “VOTE REPUBLICAN”.

Is this a joke?

“Come to think of it, its always up to ‘conservatives’ to pull the Grand Ol’ Party’s fat arse outta the fire”

So right.

Let a few brave men in the house save the GOP from Jeorge Bush and his minions...long enough to throw all the Senate GOP RINO’s out on their arse. And start over.

It’s small ball. Right now, with this issue, we’re going major league.”

Major league a-holes. This from some snotnosed "senate aide." I tell you these arrogant miscreants are out of control.

“We will here more “safe harbor” descriptions about the Z Visas in the future I expect.”

The only “safe harbor” I want to hear about is safe harbor on their way back to their own country, and they better hurry up and get there.

“This is what I don’t understand though: The House has its own amnesty bill (Flake/Gutierrez), so if the Senate merges its bill with that bill, can they still make that rule about “revenue bills must originate from the House” stick?”

As I understand it, the bill would have to be voted on and approved in the House before the Senate votes on it. I think that is the way the “revenue bills must originate from the House” works.

My disgust is beyond temporary as well.

George Bush and the senior Republican leadership in the Senate have fallen victim to the government solutions disease of the left.

We had law. Rather than equally enforce it they have failed to do their job because of special interest heat and it was too unpopular to be slurred as bigoted against Hispanic economic illegal immigrants.

Life is tough. Government service is tough. It is also too tough to care about the future of these fellows any more.

The disgust is indeed beyond temporary for this poster who has supported allegedly conservative Republicans for forty four years since the YAF days of Goldwater. I quit.

Let’s give ‘em some more incentive to follow that instinct. The Capitol’s toll free number is 866-340-9281. Go to Tony Dolz’s website www.dolz.com. He lists people’s names and even zip codes for every state and county so your voice can be heard.

Maybe they could send the President a “pink slip” while they’re at it - give Dick the wheel for the last two years.

Is it that so many people want milquetoast quasi-liberal redux, or is it simply a case of mass ignorance/mass stupidity.................................?

It is a social phenomenon called LiberalSmog!
First cases were reported during the fifties.
Creeps out from the sewers of “academia”, works its way into the minds of young fools, gains strength and “verification” with the so-called “guardians of the truth” (media), and ultimately further pollutes the minds in Malcontent Nation.

Even politicans and “intellectuals” are at risk. Makes them go against their natural instincts and align themselves with those who they falsely believe have found a new “truth”, a new “morality”.

Happens a lot at Washington cocktail parties.

LiberalSmog can ruin a great nation!

If Duncan Hunter kills this in the House, he’ll have done no less than Washington in terms of saving the nation.

I can’t think of anyone more worthy of being the next President.

Only of course if Dick were on our side, as opposed to the position of the President. If that were in fact the case, then yes I would be all for the resignation of the President—just on this issue ALONE!
