Presidential hopeful Rudy Giuliani has been making fund-raising appearances in his home turf, New York City, but he’s been hounded by reporters and protesters questioning him about the 9/11 attacks.
A radical group in the Bronx accused him of being one of the "criminals of 9/11,” according to local radio station 1010 WINS.
One young woman who claimed she was a relative of a 9/11 victim confronted the Republican candidate outside a Bronx restaurant and asked him why he told [former ABC news anchor] Peter Jennings the towers would fall that day, but allowed the rescue efforts of firefighters and police to continue. She asked Giuliani: "How do you sleep at night?”
Giuliani told the woman he never said what she’d claimed. Then another protester interrupted Giuliani with the same allegation about the comment to Jennings.
"I didn’t realize the towers would collapse” when they did, Giuliani replied, saying he’d meant the towers would collapse after many hours.
"No one that I know of had any idea they would implode,” he added. "That was a complete surprise.”
These kind of attacks only strengthen Rudy’s image and profile.
I know that’s hard to say inside FR - but I think it’s true.
Any time the issue of 9/11 comes up - Rudy wins.
They fled when someone in Rudys camp took out a bar of soap.

WNBC has obtained the transcript of Giuliani’s appearance with Jennings, from the Giuliani 2008 campaign. This is the verbatim of the issue in question:
“I—I went down to the scene and we set up headquarters at 75 Barkley Street, which was right there with the police commissioner, the fire commissioner, the head of emergency management, and we were operating out of there when we were told that the World Trade Center was going to collapse. And it did collapse before we could actually get out of the building, so we were trapped in the building for 10, 15 minutes, and finally found an exit and got out, walked north, and took a lot of people with us.”
She asked Giuliani: "How do you sleep at night?"

That though flashed through my mind too. As long as Rudy can keep the conversation centered around 9/11 he looks strong. When he has to start answering to other issues, he does not look strong & his numbers drop.
He wouldn't even have to pay them - just some words of encouragement from some well-placed operatives would be all it would take.
Not saying I think that's what's happening here - I'm just sayin'...

Look at the bright side: at least if the truthers are attacking Rudy G. about 9/11 they aren’t spamming internet polls on behalf of Ron Paul.
