I know I’d rather stand tall than sit in a crappy old handy-capped scooter. Also, the segway would be less obtrusive to others since it takes up far less floor space.

Point taken.

However, I believe the whole purpose of this article was to point out that perfectly healthy people are renting these things simply because they don't feel like walking. Not because they are disabled, obese, or elderly. My post was not directed at the disabled. It was my understanding that this thread has nothing to do with the handycapped.
