Islamberg not the only radical Muslim compound flourishing in North America
Canadian Free Press ^ | May 21, 2007 | Judi McLeod

Islamberg is just one of what is thought to be a half dozen radical Muslim paramilitary compounds flourishing across the United States, this one nestled in dense forest at the foothills of the Catskill Mountains ..........

Islamberg is an al Fuqra house. "Fuqra has had a disturbing U.S. presence for more than 20 years."

"Today, half a dozen Fuqra residential compounds in rural hamlets across the country shelter hundreds of members, some of whom, according to intelligence sources, have been trained in the use of weapons and explosives in Pakistan."

In a world where authorities make like terrorism doesn't exist, Fuqra's founder and bossman, Sheikh Mubarik Ali Hasmi Shah Gilani, is not only alive and well--he has a road "Sheikh Gilani Lane" named after him. This road is not in faraway Pakistan, but right in Charlotte County, Virginia.

"This is not only an embarrassment to the citizens of Charlotte County it is a disgrace to the entire country and an insult to the victims of 9/11 and those fighting overseas in the war against terrorism,"

"Sheikh Gilani has rubbed shoulders at international terrorist confabs with gunslingers from Hamas and Hezbollah, their mullah backers, and Osama bin Laden.....

Most infidels, including even the local undertaker, are denied access to compounds such as Islamberg.

"They come and take the bodies from my hearse," he told Williams. "They won't allow me to get past the sentry post. They say that they want to prepare the bodies for burial. But I never get the bodies back. I don't know what's going on there but I don't think it's legal."

Why aren't people reading about these flourishing compounds in their hometown newspapers?

You'd think that these compounds would be a priority for Homeland Security, but they aren't.

This is a followup to the story posted here on FR: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-bloggers/1833179/posts Springtime In Islamberg

Laura Ingraham had as a guest the investigator/ author Paul Williams last week. VERY Interesting.

Also an update 5/22/07 on the threats against the investigators.

Mahmoud Kourani, convicted in Detroit as a leader of the terrorist group Hezbollah. Using a visa obtained by bribing a Mexican official in Beirut, the Lebanese national sneaked over the Mexican border in 2001 in the trunk of a car.

Nabel Al-Marahb, a reputed al-Qaida operative who was No. 27 on the FBI's most wanted terrorist list in the months after 9-11, crossed the Canadian border in the sleeper cab of a long-haul truck.

Farida Goolam Mahammed, a South African woman captured in 2004 as she carried into the McAllen airport cash and clothes still wet from the Rio Grande. Though the government characterized her merely as a border jumper, U.S. sources now say she was a smuggler who ferried people with terrorist connections. One report credits her arrest with spurring a major international terror investigation that stopped an al-Qaida attack on New York.

The government has accused other border jumpers of connections to outlawed terrorist organizations, some that help al-Qaida, including reputed members of the deadly Tamil Tigers caught in California after crossing the Mexican border in 2005 on their way to Canada.

One U.S.-bound Pakistani apparently captured in Mexico drew such suspicion that he ended up in front of a military tribunal at Guantanamo Bay.

"They are not all economic migrants," said attorney Janice Kephart, who served as legal counsel for the 9-11 Commission and co-wrote its final staff report. "I do get frustrated when people who live in Washington or Illinois say we don't have any evidence that terrorists are coming across. But there is evidence."

According to U.S. Customs and Border Protection apprehension numbers, agents along both borders have caught more than 5,700 special-interest immigrants since 2001. But as many as 20,000 to 60,000 others are presumed to have slipped through, based on rule-of-thumb estimates typically used by homeland security agencies.

And even Rumsfeld put out the warning! (2005) http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0411/16/ldt.01.html

DOBBS: Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld is warning of the threat of terrorists entering this country through the same routes as those used by illegal aliens. Secretary Rumsfeld, traveling in South America, warned that enemies look for weaknesses and take advantage of them.

DONALD RUMSFELD, SECRETARY OF DEFENSE: The risk is that some of these human-smuggling routes into our country from this hemisphere could be used just as easily for terrorists.

DOBBS: And three million illegal aliens are estimated to be entering this country this year.

Secretary Rumsfeld also said the United States has to be, as he put it, smarter and quicker in securing our borders. The federal government’s failure to secure those borders is leading individual states to take action. Arizona’s Proposition 200, which limits state benefits for illegals, passed overwhelmingly two weeks ago. Now at least half a dozen other states are considering similar measures.

Consider the following 5 statements by Senator Kay Bailey Hutchinson given at a Senate Floor Speech 16 March 2005 to President George.W. Bush (page S 2828).

1. “In Detroit, Mahmoud Youssef Kourani was indicted in the Eastern District of Michigan on one count of conspiracy to provide material support to Hezbollah. Kourani was already in custody for entering the country illegally through Mexico and was involved in fund raising activities on behalf of Hezbollah.” 2. “...the capture of terrorist suspect Jose Padilla. The Justice Department says Padilla and an accomplice planned to enter the United States through Mexico to blow up apartment buildings in major cities such as New York.” 3. “Or the case of suspected al-Qaida sleeper agent Mohammed Junaid Babar, who told investigators of a scheme to smuggle terrorists across the Mexican border. He is tied to a terror plot to carry out bombings and assassinations in London.” 4. “Intelligence reports suggesting that 25 Chechen terrorism suspects have illegally entered the United States from Mexico have refocused attention on a porous border from which many believe the next major attack on Americans could come.” 5. “Also last July, an Egyptian man United States authorities described as one of their most wanted smugglers of humans was arrested on charges of operating a ring that illegally brought people from Egypt and other Middle Eastern countries to the United States. The indictment says Abdallah and his associates would direct people seeking to reach the United States to travel to one of several Latin American countries, and from there to Guatemala. They would then be transported to America through Mexico in return for payments of thousands of dollars in smuggling fees.”

It is blatantly obvious even to the most casual reader that Islamic terrorists have been, and continue to, cross the U.S./Mexico border into America. http://www.rlsinternationalsecurity.com/sites/southernborder.html -------------

Links between illegal immigration, terrorism, drug trade worry U.S officials Inland Daily Bulletin ^ | 12/29/2006 | Sara A. Carter

The agents discovered three Mexican migrants in the vehicle with Alfonso Salinas.

But what they discovered several days later made a far greater impression.

Alfonso Salinas was not who he seemed, according to U.S. Department of Justice and Department of Homeland Security documents. He lied to the agents about who he was, where he came from and what he was doing.

It would take nearly a week of interviews with federal agents before Alfonso Salinas would give his real name: Ayman Sulmane Kamal, a Muslim born in Egypt - a country designated as “special-interest” by the United States for sponsoring terrorism.

Kamal’s case is not an isolated one.

Evidence of “special-interest aliens” using the Mexican border to gain entry to the United States has been kept secret from the American public, according to federal law enforcement agents, terrorism experts and critics of U.S. foreign policy with Mexico.[snip]

Update on one of these terror camp participants:

http://www.upi.com/NewsTrack/Top_News/2007/05/23/terror_suspect_believed_recaptured/4827/

Terror suspect believed recaptured
NEW YORK, May 23 (UPI) — FBI officials in New York Tuesday awaited confirmation that a Lackawanna man accused of attending an al-Qaida training camp has been recaptured in Yemen.

A Yemen newspaper reported that Jaber Elbaneh, one of the so-called Lackawanna Six, was back in custody after a year on the run, WIVB-TV in Buffalo said.

Elbaneh and about 20 other prisoners had escaped from a secure prison by digging a tunnel to a nearby mosque.

While he had never returned to the United States after allegedly attending the terrorist group’s training camp, the FBI accuses him of providing material support to al-Qaida. There was a $5 million reward for his capture

Political correctness and fear of racial profiling. The fact these groups exist unhindered in the US is absolutely stupid. Every one of them should be kicked out of the country and their compounds searched and soon afterward destroyed.

I can’t get anyone to notice this story. There was one earlier about a terror training camp in Iraq that everyone was worried about. I don’t get it.

Well! Off to do yard work, I could use some instant gratification.....Did you ever try to run a weed eater on crutches! LOL! You’d enjoy watching, I’m sure, it is rather amusing.

Haven’t heard of it lately but I remember a story of one of those Muslim compounds in the foothills of Fresno near Dunlap, Ca. And there was also a story of one of their youthful followers who went on a gun rampage. Then it got really quiet. Nothing about it since then. Then authorities stopped some middle eastern men taking photos of one of the reseviors in the Sierras. They said they were on vacation. Riigghhhttt. The valley is full of middle eastern men. A few years ago, I was using the library computer and the guy next to me was reading everything in Arabic... (sorry, I peeked). Even our small town is beginning to look like a third world country... veiled women, men carrying small swords in their tunics, mosques everywhere. Making me nervous.

Thanks for the link. Wow, definitely food for thought. Little training enclaves in various US rural areas, like the one in the Catskills and ‘conservative’ Americans embracing Islam. Where will their loyalties lie?

The first-gen converts will, in all probability, be “harmless” except for the fact that they will seek justification for their new embrace by getting as many others, to convert, as possible. What will be worrisome are the offspring of these converts. They’re a very short step away from extremisation, as history has shown it happen, in Kashmir, in Indonesia, Malaysia, etc., practically every place where Islam was introduced “peacefully” in a non-Arab setting.

That’s an excellent point. They will be the useful idiots, if you will. They won’t be urged to break contact with family, etc, to show how tolerant and regular they are. And they are spread out around the country, seem to have military training. I mentioned this group to a male friend who seemed to think that the local ‘woods’ were also inhabited with plenty of ‘redneck’ hunters who wouldn’t stand down easily. They forget that these guys are well organized and trained and apparently funded. It’s ironic that Janet Reno went hard after the Branch Davidians, yet these guys seem off everybodys radar. Between regular ‘conservative’ Americans converting and these rural, well trained forest enclaves, it’s seems they have a plan and it’s working well. How many Islam converts did ‘conservative’ America see before 9-11? 10 years ago? 20? I don’t know, but I’m guessing that it’s not just, to quote the blog, ‘prison inmates’ converting these days. I really hope Homeland Security is paying attention to this.

I like your tag line.

Cong. John Carter (R Tx) was on the Lars Larson show last night on radio. He said he got 1000 calls yesterday! NOT ONE was for this senate bill.

These are not the only ones to be wary of. There is a “Christian Identity” racist group in the Cookson hills of eastern Oklahoma.

They had links to Tim McVeh who blew up the OKC federal building.
