There's a young lady working for me part time and attending the community college here. Her goal is to become an architect. I was impressed and encouraged her to slug it out no matter what and I told her that when I went to the university as a returning vet, I finished my core in two semesters and a summer session. (Maybe a residual course in the third semester.)

I asked what courses she was taking and she read off the basics......plus some whacko diversity course which didn't make a lick of sense in Hawaii. But it was required and a total waste of three credit hours that could have been better spent in her curriculum.

Imagine a young assistant professor teaching a class of Locals, Japanese, Chinese, Haole, Portagee, Vietnamese, Korean, Filipino and Micronesian, Hispanic and Popolo students diversity in a Hawaii Community College......I should challenge the course for credit by showing up with weekly supermarket shopping receipts.
