This is terrible news. Anzack had been falsely reported dead before:
Another
Article.
"
In April, false rumors of Anzack's death reached his family. His high school posted a message on its marquee that read, "In Loving Memory Joseph Anzack Class of 2005."
Family members discovered the rumor was false when Anzack, who was stationed south of Baghdad, called his family to tell them he was alive."

You are a hero.
The Mansions of the Lord Click the picture for music
To fallen soldiers let us sing Where no rockets fly nor bullets wing Our broken brothers let us bring To the Mansions of the Lord No more bleeding, no more fight No prayers pleading through the night Just divine embrace, eternal light To the Mansions of the Lord. Where no mothers cry and no children weep We will stand and guard though the angels sleep Through the ages safely keep The Mansions of the Lord. |

Second body found near this soldier’s remains.
Thousands of U.S. and Iraqi forces searched desert, lush farmland and even sewage-tainted irrigation ditches for more than a week in temperatures that reached 110-degrees. Another body was found near Anzack’s, his aunt said after the briefing from military officials.
However, U.S. military officials had no confirmed that body was a U.S. soldier.

DUSTWUN or “Duty Status and Whereabouts Unknown” has become a holding or temporary designation for service personnel from AWOL to Captured, giving command 10 days to make a determination of status.
The definition of DUSTWUN, per DOD Instruction (DODI) 1300.18 6.1.2.2
“DUSTWUN Cases - Duty Status and Whereabouts Unknown is a temporary designation when a members’ actual status is uncertain. As such, the NOK (Next of Kin) will be kept informed of progress in determining the members’ actual status. Casualty assistance is not provided unless the member’s actual status is determined to be deceased or missing.”

Very sad but not unexpected. Prayers for him and his family. Someday we’re going to look back and thank God for men like him - or wish we still had them, depending on how things turn out.
He was one of those who are the best of us. I hope we know what we are losing and are prepared to take up the task when they fall.
