Clinton feels heat over Wal-Mart ties

New York senator trying to distance herself from chain.

With retailer Wal-Mart under fire for its labor and healthcare policies, one Democrat with ties to the company, Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, has started feeling her share of the political heat.

Clinton served on Wal-Mart's board of directors for six years when her husband was governor of Arkansas. And the Rose Law Firm, where she was a partner, handled many of the Arkansas-based company's legal affairs.

Hillary Clinton had kind words for Wal-Mart as recently as 2004, when she told an audience at the convention of the National Retail Federation that her time on the board ''was a great experience in every respect."

But in recent months, as the company has become a target for Democratic activists, she has largely steered clear of any mention of Wal-Mart.

''There's no evidence she did anything to improve the status of women or make it a very different place in ways Mrs. Clinton's Democratic base would care about," said Liza Featherstone, author of ''Selling Women Short...

” Even Wal-Mart, the largest and arguably most powerful corporation in the country, is no match for the triangulation, pandering and obfuscation of Hillary Clinton. With Wal-Mart rating as public enemy number one among many liberals, progressives and just regular voters, Clinton is finding her past ties to Wal-Mart too hot to handle ...”

BFD. She regularly trots out her husband who was groping anything he could get his hands on while in office. That is undeniable. Just ask Gloria Steinem who said it's okay that he groped Kathleen Willey because he stopped when she said no. So much for the feminist notion that any unwelcome advance is the equivalent of rape.

What Her Heinous didn't do with Wal-Mart isn't going to matter with her adoring base if it doesn't matter to them what her husband did do to women with her tacit, if not outright, approval.

Mrs. Clinton’s six-year tenure as a director of Wal-Mart, the nation’s largest company, remains a little known chapter in her closely scrutinized career. And it is little known for a reason. Mrs. Clinton rarely, if ever, discusses it, leaving her board membership out of her speeches and off her campaign Web site.

When Tom Vilsack announced his candidacy, he came off as a very anti-WalMart type. It didn't take long before some blogger in Iowa had researched Vilsack's past to discover that he had helped out WalMart in the 1980s when he was just a local politician. After Vilsack dropped out, he became a big Hillary supporter.

Do you find this shocking?(Maybe you already knew).

The left defines themselves with hatred of Walmart. And their demigod worked there?

It’s just surreal to me. The great Socialistic crusader was a Walmat exec...hehehe.

I have known this for a while.

Bubba was also helping Walmart.

The unions hate Walmart so Hillary does not bring up this topic.

Hillary needs the union money and the ‘free’ get out the vote labor, thus she is very silent about these six years as well as her ‘skills’ as a commodity trader where she made $100,000 real fast ( bribes ? )

The ONLY important thing here is that Hitlery served on the board of Walmart while her husband was governor of Arkansas. TALK ABOUT CONFLICT OF INTEREST. Of course we all know (sarcasm here) that Hitlery’s service to Walmart did not ever influence any laws approved by the governor of Arkansas.

It should be just the opposit.
Walmart should be boycotted if Hildabitch is still on the board.
