We have discussed this on FR before and yeah the teachers needed to be prepared and armed but kids do too. They need strong leaders that can give them cues on what to do. IMO

With the climate as it is now, I think the more info available, the better.

I have mixed feelings on how much burdon we give to children.
They shouldnt be coddled but they shouldt be expected to be adults either.

At anyrate, what these teachers are doing is teaching them to be victims

I completely agree. However, this sort of “drill” should, if desired, be conducted only after the kids have had a thorough briefing to explain what sort of drill the school is going to conduct, what, if anything the kids are expected to do, and why the school is conducting the drill.

Running a surprise drill that simulates a true life-or-death situation is an invitation to disaster.
