Early voters in Farmers Branch strongly favored an ordinance that would make the city the first in the nation to prohibit landlords from renting apartments to most illegal immigrants, according to results released Saturday evening by Dallas County election officials. In early voting, 76.3 percent of voters approved Ordinance 2903, while 23.7 were against. None of the results from Saturday's voting at the city's 18 precincts had been released.

The election results are now coming in. I will post them as I get them. If someone else here in TX can update results that would be great. This ordinance is unique in that it makes it illegal to rent to illegals. Never been done before.
Bump
THey have not posted any of today’s results as of 7:41. I suspect it will be a shocker. Will enjoy watching the local media spin the results tonight.

Good!
The local media accurately predicted these results.
Never underestimate the RAT vote in any election. Live results should start by 8:30 CST.
Other places have tried. Now they’ll have to get past the ACLU.

“American” Jihad, Courtesy of the Open Borders Lobby
[snip]Like many other areas, Cherry Hill (home of the Albanian jihadists0 has experienced an exponential growth in the population of illegal aliens. The tiny, neighboring village of Riverside, New Jersey, (approximately eight miles away) is home to only 8,000 people but has seen an influx of 1,500-3,500 illegal aliens in recent years. Last July, the Republican mayor and council adopted the Illegal Immigrants Relief Act, forbidding townspeople from renting property to or hiring illegal aliens. The motion recognized illegal immigration as a force jeopardizing the public safety of legal residents. It imposed up to a $2,000 fine on violators, and businesses employing undocumented workers could lose their licenses for up to five years.
The Open Borders Lobby promptly declared war. The ACLU, People for the American Way, the Puerto Rican Legal Defense and Education Fund, the National Coalition of Latino Clergy and Christian Leaders, and a coalition of Riverside business leaders (who profit from cheap illegal labor) filed federal lawsuits seeking to block the ordinance which has never been enforced
Fox Radio News says the results are running 3 to 1 in favor. Then they do an interview with a woman in near tears talking about not getting to see her husband in Mexico. They next put on a woman in favor of it who talks about ‘an eye for an eye.’
I wonder how many illegal aliens will/have voted.
Next step National ID cards, then chips. It is the ONLY way to weed out the illegals, and islamokazis.
"He also forced everyone, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on his right hand or on his forehead, so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of his name. This calls for wisdom.
Scary roads ahead campers!!!!!!!
This is why you'll never see a national vote on illegal immigration, those who favor open borders know what the results would be. Instead they'd rather cite phony polls that supposedly show a 70% support for amnesty.
Bears repeating!
bigots
I must say that I am a bit concerned that (even partial election day) results are not available yet. I think the fix is in...
No worry. Weren’t the feds there to monitor things today? /sarc
I just hope Cornyn is paying attention as they think about passing a massive amnesty.
I suspect they are fearing problems...

Victory BUMP!
Sad part about this bottom feeding, race baiter known as Garcia is that he and his LULAC goons probably have some red diaper doper baby judge/laywer ready to slap an injunction on the ordinance banning the renting of apartments to ILLEGALS.
Keep the faith Farmers Branch... you're taking care of bidness with authority (70%+ from what I'm seeing in the latest poll returns).
The drive by media will bury the story and we will hear nothing about it by sunday morning.
Monday it will be gone.
An alien in the country who is an illegal is not “immigrating”.
They are here to steal GDP.
Some activist judge will end up throwing the ordinance out, bank on it.
I suspect this will happen Monday, possibly tomorrow.
They should have included a ban on the ACLU from filing law suits against the city.

Those who’d like to see the ordinance survive the inevitable litigation can make a contribution on the city of Farmers Branch website,

Reason judge gave was some bs about Citigroup not notifying the defendant in Spanish that he had to show up to defend himself in court.
I'm sure Mr. Spanish speaker had no problem filling in the credit card application or whipping out the card to pay for stuff here in the U.S.A. I guess this thief thought Citigroup had a $15,000 "gift" bank account all set up just for him and that it wasn't expected that he had to pay the bill.

That's essentially what the Escondido, CA ordinance did. It operated under the theory that committing the federal offense of harboring an alien made you unfit to hold a business license. Farmers Branch is taking pretty much the same approach.
Escondido ran into trouble with one of Barbara Boxer's favorite judges, who put a hold on enforcement and scheduled it for hearing. The ACLU routinely files these things as civil rights actions, because the 'private attorney general' provision of the civil rights act allows them to collect attorneys fees if they win it. They then proceed to run up the bill as fast as they can, with an idea of bankrupting the city and forcing them to settle the action. Farmers Branch is unique in that they're familiar with that tactic, and have volunteered to spend whatever it takes to fight for the ordinance.
An interesting aside, Farmers Branch is currently defending a lawsuit over a city ordinance that makes it illegal to allow large numbers of empty flower pots to accumulate on your front porch. The plaintiff is claiming that restriction is racist.

only 68% well then CNN and NBC will be reporting it was close since they did not get the 75% needed to reach a statistical 3/4 of the population.

(note for those in rio linda: 3/4 is irrelevant just a spin joke)
Fabulous!
18 of 18 reporting 67.64% in favor. the prop wins by a giant margin...the people have spoken. you should hear the local news...interviewing the immigrants...they say “it is a federal problem cities should not be involved.” George Bush should feel good about this. they know the feds will not touch them.
The facinating thing is these are the same people who demand the federal government impose some regulation or control.
These are also the same people who demand the local authorities abide by federal prison population limitations.

Wow, Farmer's Branch is passing an ordinance barring people from going from TX to Mexico? How weird is that.... susie
Does accurately predicting the results preclude them from parading indignant civil rights attorneys and sobbing illegal aliens in front of the cameras?
Of course not.
One would think that, given the wide support by the voters/taxpayers, then that voter/taxpayer would be willing to pay more taxes for some munincipal "rent police", instead of pushing the cost off on the property owners and managers.
The underlying problem for Farmers Branch is that it is mainly a low rent area and not a desirable place to live. If they are successful in preventing illegal mexicans from living there, it will still be a barrio.
I haven't seen that one. Do you happen to have a link to the story? Thanks.
Now it will be better.
Today, it is determined by age and sq feet of houses.
Farmers Branch has a lot of those old small houses. It is in close proximity to a lot of the jobs that Mexicans do. And it is in the Harry Hines Blvd corridor extension.
All these residents of FB who are trying to save themselves are sealing their fate. They are hastening what they are trying to prevent.
I guess I'm slow this Monday morning but I just don't see the mechanism that would make this occur.
Not allowing landlords to rent to illegals is going to bring in more illegals? I don't get it.
The same is true for rental property. Even worse, forcing prospective rental tenants to prove their citizenship will drive away those renters that Tim O'Hare wants to be living in FB.
