N.Y. TRIGGERS GUN STINGS NATIONWIDE
NY Post ^ | May 10, 2007 | DAVID SEIFMAN

A half-dozen cities might follow New York's lead and conduct their own undercover sting operations to disrupt illegal gun sales, a senior mayoral aide disclosed yesterday.

"There are a number of cities that want to emulate what we've done," John Feinblatt, Mayor Bloomberg's criminal justice coordinator, said at a breakfast sponsored by Ladies Home Journal.

Twelve of 27 out-of-state gun dealers agreed to have their operations monitored after private investigators hired by the city bought weapons in their shops last year under circumstances that apparently violated federal law.

The city is suing the dealers who won't cooperate.

The Mayor and the NY City Council has annointed itself as our new Federal Goivernment. Starting Next year you'll all be paying taxes to them instead of Washington. /s

Already the case:

If you do any work, or attend any professional conference in New York, you are already required to pay NYS and/or NYC personal income taxes on your prorated income.

They'll have to go somewhere else. It's a felony if they try it in Virginia now.

Start indicting the guys buying the guns. Put a few New York cops in Georgia or Mississippi prisons, and the program should end fairly quickly. (Perhaps the mayors could be charged as co-conspirators.)

They are by definition violating federal firearms laws (see question 11a on the form 4473). Plus, they are out of their jursidiction.

The phonies that Bloomie sends around should be arrested and tried.

If gun laws were not unconstitutionally restrictive there would be no huge black market.

Mayoral spokesman Jason Post said the office will continue to "develop innovative and aggressive ways to keep New Yorkers safe."

What?, like putting criminals in jail?

I have to disagree on that, I am a NRA, GOA, member and avid shooter and hunter. However a next door neighbor cop was telling us how he parks outside a gun show in Dallas and catches guys buying guns from inside the show who then sells them outside to Felons in the parking lot. Every guy he arrest has a long criminal record. Laws should keep guns out of the hands of Felon where ever we can.

Bloomies hypocrisy is stunning.

He is perfectly willing to violate federal firearms laws, while at the same time advocating for more restrictive ownership laws.

But then again, that is typical of a Democrat. Oh, wait, he is a registered Republican, like Giuliani. I keep forgetting.

So are you saying the government has an obligation to restrict private commerce?

There are two ways of looking at that. If you do your time you should get your rights back. The problem is they usually don’t do enough time and are back on the streets too soon.

Laws.............will never stop criminals...and never have.

The cop in Dallas you mention could arrest drug smugglers and dealers too....after all...there are already laws against that...still the drugs flow...as will the arms....
