You cant be surprised that so many Massachusetts legislators, who dont obey any other laws, are complete scofflaws when it comes to the rules and regulations of the road.
Every state legislator wants to go to Congress, and thus looks up to the federal solons. The local pols try to mimic the behavior of their superiors. As much as theyd like to, though, they cant marry as profitably as John Kerry keeps doing. But dammit, they can drive as badly as Ted Kennedy. And sure enough, they do.
Remember, too, this is only a partial list, of hacks on the relevant committees.
Its fascinating how many of these bums cant be bothered getting their cars inspected like the rest of us have to do. Dont they know that driving an uninspected vehicle is a serious violation - you could also be charged with impersonating an illegal alien. I know, these reps are very important people, too busy chanting toga-toga-toga to get down to the service station.
The no inspection sticker list includes, among others, Sen. Tom McGee and Reps. Pat Natale, Joe Wagner and the newly sworn in James ODay. Also bagged for no inspection sticker: Rep. Tony Petrucelli of East Boston, who will soon be moving up to the Senate.
Petrucelli, by the way, also has a citation for failure to appear (in) Connecticut. If only Petrucelli could somehow be convinced to fail to appear in MA.
How about Rep. Gene OFlaherty of Chelsea? I count at least five defaults on his record. Do you think he brags about this to his constituents in Bellingham Square? My friends, I have had even more defaults on my record than most of you. Like you, I dont need no stinkin badges.
Now I see that Sen. Pat Jehlen of Somerville, a certifiable moonbat, was pulled over in the Peoples Republic of Cambridge in 2004 for no inspection sticker.
Surely this was the doing of George Bush. And does Karl Rove have an alibi for Jan. 14, 2003, when Rep. Jim Marzilli of Arlington was stopped in the Peoples Republic of Amherst for nonrenew? Shouldnt a rep from Arlington have at the very least diplomatic immunity when visiting another workers paradise?
OK, time for a quiz. Ill give you the partial Registry record, and you give me the name:
1986: excise tax Brookline, 1992: allow unlic operate Roxbury, 2003: allow unlic operate Roxbury, 2007: non-renew Boston, 2007: non renew nonrenew.
If you said Sen. Dianne Wilkerson, YOU WIN!
Remember Rep. Marie St. Fleur, Tom Reillys running mate for about 10 minutes last year, until it came out that although she votes for higher taxes for everybody else, she considers paying her own totally optional. Now we learn that in the past shes also had some issues, shall we say, with her auto excise tax.
How about Rep. Thomas Petrolati, the speaker pro tempore, whatever that is, of the Massachusetts House? Hes the only one of these dolts who got a ticket for a seat-belt violation? Surely some mistake - I mean, has he forgotten all the debates over seat belts?
Then theres Rep. Walter Timilty of the infamous clan of K-Mart Kennedys. I see on his Registry record the d word - Default. Hes just lucky he didnt get lugged at some point. Didnt his uncle, Jailbird Joe, the former senator, ever fill in young Walter on the horrors of incarceration?
Sen. Marc Pacheco of Taunton - the Registrys got him for four surchargeable accidents, and three speeding tickets, including one in New Hampshire in 2001, just a month after his bid to join Ted Kennedy in Congress was crushed by an ungrateful electorate.
They may not serve together in Congress, but he and Ted do have that heavy foot in common. And look on the bright side, Sen. Pacheco - none of the cops wrote you up for having really bad hair.

An inspection sticker for what?! What the heck needs inspecting?
What the heck is a default?! I thought that's what happens to a loan. I've heard of points for various infractions, but never a "default".
Exhaust emissions.
An inspection sticker for the car — they check all safety things, like brakes, windshield wipers, etc., emissions and — I think now — the state of the body. Failure to pass gets you 10 days grace to repair the deficiencies — unless of course you’re a state rep!
In this context, probably failure to appear for a court hearing on the violations.
All power corrupts; Massachusetts political power corrupts absolutely.
“”You cant be corrupt if corrupt is the norm.””
Now that’s just the perfect phrase for the society we live in today...
Especially in Taxachusetts...
When I was a kid, my buddy glued leaves over his expired inspection sticker. We drove a whole summer with Maple leaves all over his windshield!
