But Willis, perhaps, was aware of something the staff of TMZ did not know:

--- From Crimes and Corruption: "New Tape Suggests Kennedy Assassination Inside Job"--

Audio: Tape suggests JFK assassination was inside job serving as the final testimony of CIA veteran and convicted Watergate conspirator, E. Howard Hunt on the assassination of President John F. Kennedy has surfaced.

It has been distilled down from a 20-minute tape made by Hunt at his home in Miami, according to his oldest son with whom E. Howard Hunt had enjoyed a good relationship in later life.

The unmarked cassette was received in the mail by his oldest son, Saint John Hunt, in Janurary 2004. At the time, the 86-year-old E. Howard Hunt was not well. According to Saint John Hunt, his father's only request was that the information not be released until his death. Shortly thereafter, he recovered from his illness and he would not die until January of 2007. The tape remained in Saint John Hunt's hands the entire time.

According to Saint John Hunt, the existence of the tape was unknown by his extended family until its broadcast on "Coast to Coast Live with Ian Punnett" on April 27, 2007. Many of the details of the tape were included in an interview with Rolling Stone magazine published earlier in the month.

The contents of the tape are consistent with E. Howard Hunt's CIA career. He was a significant team member of many CIA "wet ops," that is, bloody operations such as the violent overthrow of the democratically-elected Guatetamalan government of Jacobo Arbenz in 1954 and the assassination of Che Guevara. The Guatemalan civil war that resulted from the CIA-backed coup would eventually lead to the deaths of 200,000 people.

In his lifetime, E. Howard Hunt often would be glib about his roles in these "wet ops" and saw them as a kind of patriotic duty for which he was uniquely suited. He was urbane, well-connected and well-educated. He published over 85 spy novels and enjoyed the respect and companionship of many of Washington's conservative elite such as William F. Buckley who wrote the forward to Hunt's most recent memoirs.

But despite many allegations over the years, E. Howard Hunt had always denied until any involvement in the assassination of JFK. In 1978, Hunt testified under oath to Congress that neither he nor the CIA had had anything to do with the murder of the president.

According to this tape, he was only half-lying.

The "wet op" that was pulled off in Dealey Plaza on November 22, 1963 may not have been orchestrated by the CIA proper but rather was put together by several CIA veterans and contract players-for-fire in a "non-sanctioned" hit originally "suggested" by then Vice-President Lyndon B. Johnson. One of the many purposes of this tape, according to E. Howard Hunt, was to make clear of LBJ's involvement in the assassination.

Perhaps as a way of justifying the assassination, Hunt seems focused on establishing the "chain of command" to this action that allows him to see himself as following orders toward a greater patriotic goal.

On the tape, the man Hunt refers to as "Frank" is, according to written notes taken by Saint John Hunt, CIA Operative and later Watergate co-conspirator Frank Sturgis sometimes spelled "Sturgess." The mastermind appears to be Cord Meyer.

Dave Phillips was also a CIA Operative in Central and South America.

This tape also confirms the long-held suspicion that David Morales was a key member of the assassination team.

What is not on the tape is "Lucien Sartie," the man that Hunt, according to his son, confirmed earlier as the Corsican-born French contract hitman who was flown in to take the "head shot" at JFK from behind the Grassy Knoll.

What is not on this tape is motive but that is attested in other testimony.

These men allegedly hated Kennedy.

They saw him as soft on Communism, soft on Castro, guilty of sending their friends to their torture and deaths during the Bay of Pigs fisasco and a bad risk for the future of the country. They also did not respect him as a person for his philandering and other behaviors which had yet to become public knowledge but would have been known to them.

They were also resentful of the way that the White House had been treating the CIA through Kennedy's disdainful public posture on intelligence and the firings of many of their former associates.

In sum, with the permission of LBJ, Cord Meyer, David Phillips, David Morales, E. Howard Hunt conspired to create a "non-official" hit "for the good of the country."

And here, finally, is the taped testimony that proves that once and for all.

Saint John Hun, residing in California, who was overnighted the tapes from his father in Texas for what E. Howard Hunt explained to be more secure with delivery in the shortest timeframe. E. Howard Hunt had asked his son not play the tape until after his death.

Glenn Beck highlighed Hunt on his show on May 3, 2007. On the tape E. Howard Hunt claims to have been aware of a "Big Event" in the making which is believed to be the JFK assassination.

Hunt was questioned at the time of the assassination, as he and others were "the hobos" sitting near the train tracks above the grassy knoll. E. Howard Hunt speaks clearly, eloquently and in quite detail on the tape provided for air. There is a longer tape said not yet made public.

One of the other Hobo’s was always thought to be Charles Harrelson the father of Woody Harrelson. Years later when the senior Harrelson was interviewed by the media, he was shown the pictures of the Hobos. He laughed that one looked like him, but claimed it wasn’t him.

It later turned out that Harrelson's father was a freelance hit-man. He was accused of murdering a Texas businessman when Woody was just seven years old and was convicted of the crime six years later. When Harrelson was in college, his father received two life term sentences for the killing of a federal judge. His father recently died in prison of a heart attack on March 15, 2007.

Blogger Gunbroker I referenced, as well, having more Beck appearance detail on this story.

There is no way to confirm the accuracy of this tape, so it will only fuel conspiracy theorists.

One thing that I have not heard much of before, though, is the implicit involvement and encouragement of Lyndon Johnson. Johnson certainly had the motive, means, and temperament necessary.

I first heard about this one very late night when I had to run out for some “necessities” to a 7-11. It was on Coast to Coast AM. The problem with conspiracies is they expect you to exclude all other information for the sake of “special information” that is weighted in its accuracy or lack thereof by some “special” process that is not based on weighing the known accepted facts. There is more evidence supporting the allegation that Robert Kennedy played a role in the death of Marilyn Monroe than there is that JFK was assassinated.

While I haven’t ever accepted the “official” version of the assassination, this tape is just another in the series of claims of conspiracy. It cannot be verified or corroborated with anything other than the same circumstantial claims that other conspiracy theories use.

Too much time has passed and much of the evidence has disappeared over the years.

We all have to just accept what we do and move on. November 22, 1963 was a long time ago. Many here today weren't even born yet and probably don’t care. Those of us that do recall the day have grown old and regardless of what brought about his death, will it really make any difference in our lives today?

Here is where it all falls apart. Taped testimony can’t prove anything.

100% insane, but people have fun believing these conspiracy theories while others like me have fun shooting them down.

Many are going to claim anyone who accepts the possible validity of this as being a tinfoil hat type. But one thing that would remain unanswered regarding this tape is:

Why? Why would E. Howard Hunt make this tape and go to the trouble he did to do so if it was all a lie?

This is a pretty elaborate plan and a lot of trouble to go to so long after it was all over.

What transparent balderdash.

I especially like blaming the CIA for 200,000 dead in Guatemala, instead of the communist scum who started it all when they took over the country, and then murdered throughout said war. As for Che, a typical touch to mention him, he clearly deserved exactly what he got because he did the like himself to anyone he could.

Commies are transparent.

He published over 85 spy novels

He must have had a lot of time on his hands when he was not busy playing 007/Jack Bauer.

(brought forward from another JFK post)

I see an underlying rationale to the death of JFK which may be very important to a conspiracy theory.

1) JFK, among his other medical problems, had Addison’s disease, a life threatening illness.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Addison%27s_disease

2) At the time, the only known treatment for the disease was massive doses of cortisone.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cortisone

3) At that time, it was *incorrectly* believed that massive doses of cortisone would make a person clinically, even violently paranoid. In 1956, there had even been a movie made, (described on IMDB as “terrifying”), starring James Mason, called “Bigger than Life”, in which a schoolteacher is driven violently mad by taking cortisone.

http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0049010/

4) Finally, at that time, JFK had the unilateral authority to *initiate* nuclear war with Russia.

Put these items together, and the *reason* for JFK to die becomes very clear.

The only other question that would definitively explain why he was assassinated would be if someone had asked him to resign for health reasons, and he refused.

I don’t know if anyone approached him in this way, but I think if they did, and he did refuse, he may have signed his own death warrant.

In such a circumstance, the authority to kill the President would have most certainly been given to LBJ, as his Vice President.

So I ask you, fellow Freepers, *if* the President of the United States is believed to be going violently insane, *and* he refuses to resign, is in *not* reasonable to assume that he will be involuntarily removed from office?

If the alternative is global thermonuclear war?

While this is very interesting to consider, I have my doubts. What was the gain? LBJ was a known philanderer as well as a power hungry, arm twisting political bully so why would he be any better in power than Kennedy? This latest claim of how and why JFK was assassinated is about as good as the others I have read about, any of which is probably closer to the truth than the Oswald yarn. A person in Irving, close to the aftermath of the murder, told me at the time that they believed it was done by the Cubans. My husband theorizes that the JFK assassination was the result of the political assassination of President Diem of South Viet Nam. We can take our pick of a number of possible scenarios but there was no justification then or now for murdering a US President. If any American is still alive who was involved in murdering JFK, they should be found and terminated.

I have been following this stuff since about 1968.

JFK was killed because conspirators got together and had him killed.

Bruce Willis is it seems more bright than most actors, because he is correct. His opinions are not worth anything more simply because he is a so-called Actor.

The real "Best Actors" in our Society work for the MSM except for the ones who actually get paid to be Politicians.

James Ellroy’s AMERICAN TABLOID is still the most fun version of the JFK conspiracy universe. But I do think it’s been well estabished for a long time that L.H. Oswald shot him from the school book depository building. From that vantage, with that rifle and the clear, slow-moving target in the limo, a shooter could hardly miss.

I'll get killed for saying this, but I'm pretty sure those guys are still in power, in some form. The entire government of the United States was co-opted. But, he adds, "I don't think my opinion means jack [bleep], because I'm an actor. Why do actors think their opinions mean more because you act?"

At least he has half a brain.

LOL @ Willis...he sums it up pretty well about “actors knowing more than anyone”...sarcasm can be constructive. No wonder he doesn’t get really big movie deals anymore, he ticks off the Hollywood moonbats.

I remember talk about a time capsule that was buried ?somewhere? to be opened at such time that all of the people possibly involved were dead. That would mean a lot more time would have to pass before it could be opened. I certainly have no proof that such a thing truly exists but if it does, it could make for interesting exposure. Or it could be another Geraldo Rivera fiasco.
