You sure rite purdy!

I hope that you would send this to someone in Greensberg when the proper time comes, it is a very nice tribute. Of course - your second paragraph could be used either way - with a steadfast Mayor standing on the shattered band stand concluding with “and we WILL rebuild....”

Jarrel Texas was hit by an F5 in 1997, nothing left but the foundations...they rebuilt and the 2005 census shows 1,408 tough people.

Americans rebuild, I predict Greensburg will.

The rain these supercells are dropping is incredible, 200 miles west of me between San angelo and Abilene, Texas one storm has dropped 5-7” and golfball hail since this afternoon, including a funnel cloud.
The storm has practically parked in the same area since about 2pm.
Ive noticed in Kansas and Ok the rain totals reach 12” in some areas. Equal to a tropical storm total.

Im glad the dry line is expected to stay west tonight and away from DFW.

Prayers up for those in the path of these storms.

(Texas) AT 639 PM CDT...THE PUBLIC REPORTED A TORNADO ABOUT 10 MILES NORTHWEST OF MERTZON...MOVING NORTH AT 20 MPH.

* THE TORNADO IS EXPECTED TO BE NEAR ARDEN BY 710 PM CDT

"Breaking: 4th and Centennial in Hutchinson - brief touchdown confirmed and reported by National Weather Service"

I googled this and it shows near Plum St. or just off of Walnut in Hutch. I called a cousin who lives about 8 blocks northeast of there and they are fine. Didn't seem too concerned, said they had been "watching".

Thanks for all the prayers, I have many extended family in Reno, Kingman and Harper counties area.

Here's a captured updated Doppler Radar image I got from the KSN WeatherLab site. I uploaded it to tinypic so it wouldn't slow down the thread.

You can't see the finer details on this which the metereologists on KSN have been showing but you can see the latest band of storms heading East.

When there is a dark red area next to a bright green band, that is what the metereologists call a very high rotation area with very high and imminent tornado potential.

After I posted the report, KSN said that the touchdown at 4th and Centennial was actually located just outside of Hutchinson; said that NWS had placed 4th and Centennial, where the touchdown occurred, inside of Hutchinson. Either way, looks like Hutchinson was safe. :)

Prayers for your family and friends in Reno, Kingman and Harper Counties.

That doesn't sound good. Hopefully sirens are working in all areas tonight. There were reports that some sirens were not working late last night and early this morning.

Also today KSN lost TV audio after a lightning strike. Their live webstream was not affected though by the lightning strike. Suddenly I heard cross-talk between the KSN metereologist and the KSN news anchor saying that they'd lost TV audio. Internet live webstreaming continued.

The Fort Stockton, Tx area is going to have a rough night looks like. A tornado nearly stationary and base ball hail.

AT 933 PM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE METEOROLOGISTS CONTINUED TO DETECT A TORNADO. THIS TORNADO WAS LOCATED 29 MILES SOUTHWEST OF BAKERSFIELD...OR ABOUT 29 MILES NORTH OF SANDERSON. THIS TORNADO WAS NEARLY STATIONARY ON US HIGHWAY 285 BETWEEN MILE MARKERS 452 AND 460. HAIL UP TO BASEBALL SIZE IS POSSIBLE AS WELL WITH THIS STORM.

Looks like that San angelo storm to my west isnt going to get in my neck of the woods so Im putting the kids to bed.

It was good to see on the news that the watches have shifted to the east of Greensburg, finally.
The main risk there seems to be flooding now.

I know I am going to catch flak on this but I get the feeling certain parts of Iran are going to look like these pics as well soon unless they shape up.
