Thanks, the warnings are coming fast and furious now.
that was a huge tornado.
my goodness.
My prayers are with the great people of Kansas.
God Bless the people in the path of these tornadoes.
Warnings aren’t confirmed tornadoes.
Thank you bd476.
Praying for the people who are/will be affected by the tornadoes.
Home of:
The world's largest Pallasite meteor.
The world's deepest hand-dug well.
Not bad for a small town in Kansas...
Thanks for the map, Ernest.
My mom’s from Phillips, Neb., and much of our family still lives there. It’s just east of Grand Island, so they’re involved—but I didn’t realize it until I looked at your map.
ANd let me tell you that hand dug well will give you a work out going up and down it. THe meteorite is cool if you dont think it is just a rock.
My heart feels for them, I have met many friends there over the years.
Strategerist if you will re-read my post here you will notice that I did not use the word "warnings".
Strategerist, if you can read the map above, you might see that "TORNADO REPORTS.. (6)" also does not include the word "warnings.".
You’re welcome, Cindy. Prayers up for everyone in the affected areas.

TORNADO WATCH NUMBER 235
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
240 PM CDT SAT MAY 5 2007
The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a Tornado Watch for portions of parts of
Southwest Iowa
Large part of Northeast Kansas
much of Eastern Nebraska
effective this Saturday afternoon and evening from 240 PM until 1000 PM CDT.
This is a particularly dangerous situation. Destructive tornadoes large hail to 3 inches in diameter thunderstorm wind gusts to 80 mph and dangerous lightning are possible in these areas.
The Tornado Watch area is approximately along and 60 statute miles East and West of a line from 35 miles East Northeast of Norfolk Nebraska to 40 miles South of Manhattan Kansas.
For a complete depiction of the watch see the associated watch outline Update (WOUS 64 KWNS wou5).
Remember a Tornado Watch means conditions are favorable for tornadoes and severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area. Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible warnings.
Other watch information continue WW 232 WW 233 WW 234
Discussion
Severe thunderstorms are increasing in both number and intensity across Central NE/KS as air mass has become very unstable.
Very favorable strong shear profiles will support tornadic supercells across the watch area thru the evening.
Shear/instability will support potential of strong/long track tornadoes.
Aviation tornadoes and a few severe thunderstorms with hail surface and aloft to 3 inches. Extreme turbulence and surface wind gusts to 70 knots. A few cumulonimbi with maximum tops to 600. Mean storm motion vector 22040.
HALES
Thank you, squidpup.
Prayers up for Kansas...for all those affected by the tornadoes, the victims, the rescue personnel, and the cleanup crews.
Lord, be merciful, and let there be an end to these Beasts of Spring for this year.
