Have people walk into my class at the beginning of the year looking like I’m supposed to have fangs, but typically wind up at the end of the semester with more people earning A’s and B’s than D’s and F’s.
Guess the difference is that I don’t GIVE grades, I expect the students to EARN them and if I’ve got to go to the Dean and explain an entire class with “A” grades at the end of the year, I’ll do it with pride.
