As bad as Bruning may be, Chuck Hagel is a self absorbed media whore.

He is a disgrace.

When he is gone, he will be forgotten.

Can’t Nebraska do better than these 2 and Ben Nelson, this is one of the most Republican states in the country but keep on electing people like Jim Exon, Bob Kerrey, Ben Nelson and Chuck Hagel.

What bothers me most about Chuck Hagel is the state he is from, he would be in no danger of losing his seat by . Can you imagine a Democrat Senator in any state let alone a state like Vermont or Rhode Island backing President Bush on Iraq.

That’s what Hagel has done, a state Bush got 66% of the vote in 2004 and he is slamming them. These State Reps should tell Hagel we will not support you because you are an egomaniac that uses the mainstream media that hates most Nebraskas to help your career.

Actually, Hagel has a very good ACU record (%80's). Not even close to losers like Lincoln Chafee who hovered around 25%.

However, Hagel does not get it on big issues like the war on terror, and furthermore he is all too willing to be a useful idiot for the Beltway media and speak ill of Republicans on these big issues.

It is pretty sad that our democrat Senator Nelson is more of a conservative than is Hagel. It will be really sad of the people of this state re-elect Hagel for a 3rd term. We can, and should, do better than Hagel.

I believe that Bruning's comments from 1992 were made as an uninformed, wrongly idealistic student, and his actions as an elected state senator and Attorney General since that time have indicated a completely different set of ideals and values. He will get my vote.

It is easy to look like a conservative senator when the other guy is Chuck Hagel. Nelson isn’t a conservative - Pete Ricketts (Nelson’s 2006 GOP opponent) was a conservative, and unfortunately he lost by a pretty good margin. Nelson is in pretty deep with alot of big agriculture concerns, insurance & telemarketing industry as well. He had plenty of $’s to spend on re-election, as did Ricketts.

As bad as Hagel is on the war on terror, he is even worse on illegal immigration. Hagel is for amnesty for illegal aliens. Hopefully, he will lose and then take a job on MSDNC as a Chris Matthews ‘Conservative’.
