Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton has dropped the use of her maiden name "Rodham" in her bid for the Democratic presidential nomination.

Clinton identifies herself as "Hillary Clinton" in her campaign press releases and on her campaign website. The lone mention of her maiden name is in a campaign biography that says "Hillary's father, Hugh Rodham, was the son of a factory worker from Scranton."

She continues to use "Hillary Rodham Clinton" in her New York-focused press releases and in the Senate.

Clinton appeared surprised last week when asked why her presidential campaign had dropped her maiden name. Clinton laughed, shook her head and replied: "I haven't, I haven't," before dashing off.

Exactly! Mrs. Clinton did the very same thing in Arkansas after Bill lost his governorship.

Regard your good name as the richest jewel you can possibly be possessed of - for credit is like fire; when once you have kindled it you may easily preserve it, but if you once extinguish it, you will find it an arduous task to rekindle it again. The way to gain a good reputation is to endeavor to be what you desire to appear.

Could it have something to do with hoping people forget her association with the rotten Rodham brothers, who took payments from crooks to buy pardons from Billy Jeff on the day he left office? Just a guess...

So, is this the end of “creeping Rodhamism”?

Only time will tell.

The name “Clinton” will get her more votes from dullards than “Rodham”.

It’s easy to figure out. She wants people to think that Bill is running for a third term. She know that people hate her so she is trying to embrace her husband and his name.

The minute after she’s sworn in, she’ll change it to Hillary Rodham.

And we’ll get Rodhamized.

I think the first time I heard her use only her maiden name was the day after Bill won the 1992 election.

Mrs. Clinton used ONLY the last name Rodham before Bill’s second run as governor of Arkansas.

It’s because so many people relate others with three names so badly, given that most serial killers and notorious individuals are hung with the middle name. Not to many positive examples can be given compared to their negative counterparts, and most normal people find it utterly arrogant of people to demand the extra name.

Whenever I see a hyphenated last name I expect a pretentious condescending character. I am rarely disappointed......
