Here we go again - breaking. No tornado-on-the-ground sightings yet, but it *is* dark out and often we don't find out about those until after the sun rises.

The main body of the storm is heading for Downtown Fort Worth. Here we go again....

Storm estimated to hit Ft. Worth proper at 2123 local time.

And it’s going to roll right over the *same* path that that tornado swarm/storm came through last week.

River Oaks area/North Fort Worth: Winds at 60mph and accelerating.

I lived in that area up until 2000. Had a co-worker who was affected by the same tornado which hit the BankOne Building. His house in Arlington received a glancing blow with all of the glass blown out. Wear shoes!

Stay safe, we had this muck earlier today.

Not terribly close. The storm is changing course from due east to east-northeast. That means that in an hour or so, I should be in the line of fire - I’m in Richardson, about 40 miles away.

The storm’s main body is proceeding along a line from Haltom City to Grapevine.

Wautaga and North Richland Hills needs to be seeking shelter NOW.

It does it every year from March-June and then again in October.

Thankfully, I've only had to take cover one time although I've been in at least 30 tornado warnings.

Tornados, Severe Storms Threaten All of North Texas

Last Edited: Tuesday, 24 Apr 2007, 7:18 PM CDT
Created: Tuesday, 24 Apr 2007, 1:01 PM CDT

http://www.myfoxdfw.com/myfox/pages/Home/Detail?contentId=3015690&version=21&locale=EN-US&layoutCode=TSTY&pageId=1.1.1

DALLAS — Weather experts are keeping a very close watch on a line of heavy storms in Denton County, according to FOX 4 Meteorologist Dan Henry.

“The National Weather Service is very interested in this line right now, what with torrential rains falling at the rate of about two inches per hour,” he said about 5:20pm.

Some parts of Denton County saw well over three and a half inches Tuesday afternoon, Henry said.

Sudden rainfalls like this has North Texas lawmen asking motorists to be extra careful of high water and flash flooding for the rest of the afternoon.

The severe storms that left wind damage and several inches of rain also flooded low-lying areas, clogged storm drains, and covered many surface streets with water.

As a general rule of thumb, if you cannot see the pavement, do not drive into the water. You may think you know how deep it is, but water just a little over a curb can actually be more than two feet deep.

Also Tuesday, a restaurant in Denton County sustained heavy damage by the same line of storms.

FOX 4’s Jason Overstreet described by phone the damage to the Via Grande Mexican Restaurant at Highway 380 and F.M. 720.

“The workers say the windows just blew out and the wind ripped a piece of the roof off near the kitchen,” Overstreet told FOX 4 Meteorologist Dan Henry.

The damage was just one report of the mess left by the sudden storms brought when a humid airmass collided with an incoming dry line.

Earlier in the afternoon, A FOX 4 storm spotter confirmed a tornado on the ground in Godley in Johnson County. There has been no damage reported from that tornado.

While this line of storms has mainly moved on, we are not out of the woods yet. Our area remains under a Tornado watch until 8:00pm, and more storms could boil up at any time. Stay tuned to FOX 4 News and myFOXdfw.com for more details.

Leaving keyboard for a few, going to check that cars are under cover and then move to safe zone with wireless laptop. (FReeping does not require working mains power for me.)

Said southern storm is moving on a line from Mansfield to north of Ennis at 55+ mph.

I don't think so. That would put it in Dallas.

I'm looking at another Radar loop of the area, and it isn't showing anything about tornados, and hasn't all afternoon and evening.
