Will FR embrace Hillary instead, removing any chance of getting another conservative on the court?

This is the forum that largely chose Alan Keyes as the presidential candidate in 2000 so I’m not terribly worried that they don’t like Rudy. LOL

So are you saying conservative ideals don’t have a snowballs chance in hell.

Are you espousing the “anybody but Hillary” campaign. What if the dem candidate happens to be Obama...then is it anybody but Obama.

Why not just vote for anybody then.

Will you embrace Rudy Giuliani when he is the exact same thing as Hillary on all of the above listed issues?

What ever gave you the idea that Rudy would nominate conservative justices to the court? That, is the conservative wing's biggest issue with him.

You are delusional if you think Rudy would appoint a conservative to the court.

FR should thank Hillary for exposing Rudy.

The same folks who thought it would be a good idea to punish the President and the republicans in the mid term elections will be bragging about their power when the democrats take over the white house.

After all, it was said that it didn’t matter if the dems took over the senate because both parties were the same anyway.

That logic sure showed our troops and our allies, didn’t it?

That pretense of supporting the troops is no different than the dems insisting ‘they’ support the troops.

that’s the point. There is precious little difference between Hilary and Guiliani. Would you vote for Hilary if there was an R behind her name?

Why would a someone as liberal as Giuliani work to appoint conservatives to the court?

If our only object was to stop HIllary, why don’t all the republicans simply switch to the democratic party and vote in the primary for John Edwards?

I’ll tell you — because there are more important things in life than “stopping hillary”. Hillary is not the problem, she is the symptom.

I get the impression some people would in fact vote for Obama, Edwards, or Gore if it would stop Hillary.

I'm curious. Since when did the prospect of Hillary in the Oval Office (and Bill in or anywhere near the White House) stop being that troublesome for some Freepers? Because it would still be very much troublesome for me. I lived through Bill's two terms. Without benefit of FR, by the way. I didn't register with the site until during the post-election mess in 2000. I didn't start posting regularly until the next summer. In any case, eight years of those two and their mob was enough. More than enough. Way more than enough. I'd had enough by Election Day '92, frankly. I'd have been a lot happier never to have seen them again after that. Asking me to see Rudy Giuliani as a bigger threat than Hillary Clinton (and Bill, and company) is, essentially, asking me to forget what I remember of Team Clinton. Sorry, folks. I won't do that. I can't do that. No. Hell, no. Not now. Not ever. And any Freeper who knows anything about why this site was created in the first place should know better than to expect me to.

Explain to me how electing ANY liberal advances the conservative movement.

“Will FR embrace Hillary instead”

She is only the “other” choice for the Democrats. She is not even going to be in the Republican primary.

So pardon me, where does your statement come from?

If you run a liberal against a liberal, you will end up with a liberal, who will appoint liberal judges (despite campaign promises).

Hope this is sarcasm, otherwise it is the silliest comment probably ever posted. Sorry.

First, given his past behavior on the abortion issue and pretty much everything he's ever said about judges other than "I'll appoint strict constructionists," all we have to indicate he'll appoint a conservative is his word. Well, he's a politician, so I need more than that.

Second, the "only Rudy can win" argument is a load of crap. You may think that we can win by running a northeastern lib against a northeastern lib, but I have yet to see a convincing argument that it would work, much less that it's the only thing that will work.

Third, here's a picture of your argument so you can color it and hang it on the fridge:

Ya ain’t gonna get a conservative appointee from Rudy, anyway. Think “Souter” and you get some idea what sort of “conservative” judges Rudy will appoint.

Remember, he’s runnin’ for the primary right now - Rudy has gone as far Right as he is EVER going to go... Once the primaries are done, its “Leftward, HO!”

Hillary could serve a purpouse. It’s about time the squishy middle found out what we’ve been talking about for the last 40 years..the Democrats are fascist.

Hillary will gleefully demonstrate that to all. And probably destroy American progressivism in the process. If not, that America as we knew it is dead already.
