You are dreaming, codeine has been a “prescription” drug way before you were even born (I’ll betcha, unless you are 100 years old)
what’s a MIL?
MIL=Mother-In-Law
Regards,
I’ve seen Mexican women “injecting” antibiotics into little babies without a clue as to what is even medically wrong with the child- absolute stupidity. Bacterial resistance to antibiotics is the result of overusing them. You gotta know what you are doing.
Thanks, yet another Dad.
Secondly, imagine how much worse drug abuse would be if you could just order whatever you want when you want it.
Oh, my. We just can't have that.
Oh! (when you gonna operate?)
what is that supposed to mean?
So the result is that this 55-year-old, who has a lot of life experiences, has to threaten to break his 30-year-old physician's nose in order to get antibiotics to fix his once-a-year sinus infection.
Works for me.
It means you're the second person I've spotted on this thread trying to be everyone's daddy.
It is a bad thing because those morons, together with the degenerates who would opiate themselves to death, mean that a drug distribution system that treats citizens as responsible adults instead of dependent children can’t be permitted to come into being.
I’m not saying I like it, just that I don’t think we have a chance in hell of changing it.
Even more silly is them wanting us to get “permission” from a doctor to take vitamins, mineral and herbs. They should be spending their time getting the people who put melamine in our imported grain supply.
That is irrational, and borders on advocacy of a police state.
he*l son, you don’t need my permission. Go swallow whatever you like. But I warn ya, dont smoke them elk antlers!
I’m not advocating an irrational police state, just acknowledging that that’s what we’ve got.
They’re over here now.
I disagree the FDA determines the efficacy and uses of a drug and the DEA determines its schedule. Elimination of the DEA would lower cost. The Pharmacist in our state fight any changes that would help the consumer and lessen their control of prescription drugs. I doubt most people would eliminate the Doc from the loop. It is the same with laboratory testing in many states, you have to have a doctors order to get a CBC. If you want to order your own lab tests, its fine with me.
That acknowledgement amounts to surrender to those who would deliver us into a nanny-state hell.
Unless I am misunderstanding I have to say that you guys and the author of the article are uninformed of the EPIDEMIC of prescription drug abuse we have in the U.S.
In my area of Texas I have seen it detroy lives and families. I’ve been to more funerals for prescription overdoses in the last year than I have in my life. My town did not have one “Pain Management Clinic” a year ago. Today we have four. Why? Because stay-at-home moms were car pooling and driving to Houston once a week and going to 3 or 4 different licensed drug dealers, called Pain Management Doctors. They brought them home and distributed them.
The Texas Legislature is working right now on curbing this epidemic that is destroying homes, lives and the livlihodd of the innocent spouses and children.
I don’t care if the pill heads want to kill themselves to the tune of a thousand a day. It’s the innocent that I am concerned about. We have more DUIs in our area from pills than we do alcohol. That puts my family at risk.
I have no problem with people taking Rx drugs “as prescribed” but that’s not the case anymore. We’re so concerned about the unborn children, how about some concern for those who are living in hell because mom and/or dad are hooked on Lorisets, Oxycontins, Somas, Xanex, etc.
WISE UP!!! The Rx problem will soon surpass Crack and Meth. FOR REAL!!!
Then re-legalize ribeyes, booze, tobacco and freedom of association.
The problem will soon take care of itself.
