GOV/MIL - Hagel, The Modern Vietnam Fool

Sen Hagel is having serious flashbacks to Vietnam http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...042002007.html

Last weekend, along with Rep. Joe Sestak (D-Pa.), I completed my fifth trip to Iraq, and I am frustrated and worried. We are still risking the lives of our troops without giving them a realistic policy worthy of their sacrifices. To me, as a Vietnam veteran, that feels terribly familiar.

What part seems familiar Senator? The part where the Democrats spurned the war and created the image that our soldiers were out of control, killing machines reminiscent of Ghengis Khan? The part where the military was hampered by a Congress which put down ridiculous rules surrounding their ‘permissible actions’ so that they had no hope of winning and were nothing more than sitting ducks? Is Hagel remembering how the Congress and a Democrat President micro-managed the effort and basically killed tens of thousands of American because they never once had the humility to recognize a political genius is not a military genius? Is Hagel remembering how all faith in the military eroded away, taking with it the honor and prestige of serving your country?

Clearly not since he is now the one eroding the honor of service through is incessant handwringing and weeping like a child? Hagel is the one promoting the restriction of mission to be one devoid of offensive acts, making our people sitting ducks to terrorist bombs. Hagel is the one holding back needed ammunition, supplies and replacement troops. Hagel has become the the modern version of the dangerous political hack who gave him his nightmares which dog him to this day. Hagel has become the worst part of Vietnam - the Democrat who killed our people because they searched and searched and searched for a way to lose the war. And while they searched for the perfect loss and negotiated with the enemy in secret, the dems left our people out there to die and die and die until a good loss could be found. That is the nightmare of Vietnam.

Winning is a mindset and will power. Never vote for war unless you plan to win - something Democrats NEVER learned from Vietnam. Then, like now, they vote to the prevailing wind of politics, even if it means dead Americans. Hagel is has become one with these people who have no sense of reality. Hagel is having nightmares because he knows he is the devil who killed so many in that long ago war from a different generation. Hagel never had success in the military - he knows only failure. Which is why he is one - a failure.

I’m getting tired of this. Hagel is unfortunate. How he could ally himself with the same people who dragged America down to defeat in Vietnam. The only thing similar is the left has not changed.

I saw Hagel and his brother on TV. His brother is a typical lefty VN protestor. He would not even say he would vote for his brother for President but he supported him on his anti-war stance. Hagel has a problem and it is his very politically active lefty brother. Hagel is moderate. His brother is far left.

Hagel is a walking mental case in desperate need of medication.
